I don't get that Ahmed hates Muslims. He is a Muslim -- even if it may be a liberal, secularist, or non-practicing one.

Muslim does not equal "Muslim Brotherhood" any more or less than a Muslim does not equal "Al Qaeda".

That said to your quote, because I feel like I have a pretty good sense of where he's coming from, and I have personally experienced (albeit briefly as a tourist) what it's like in countries where morally corrupt political parties that hide behind a religious banner advocate a culture of disrespect for human dignity and rights.
