cdk: brilliant season, awesome player. il nuovo kaká
vlahovic: a dud, fuck off, kean >>>>

please... we are playing better with him than with out a striker, but come on, De Ketelaere is a CAM and he has better conversion rate than Vlahovic.
Dusan has 6.1 expected goals stat when u exclude penalties and he has scored only 3 goals from it (4 goals are penalties) thats -3.1 goals, thats a conversion rate on the level of Roberto Piccoli (but even he is better than that).

He was complete in his first season, half decent in the second and a complete turd in his final season with us.

Numbers would hardly back up your statement

Higuain: 149 Games, 66 goals -> 0.44 Goals per match

Vlahovic: 121 games, 53 goals -> 0.43 goals per match

Also, Higuain played in a title winning squad whereas Vlahovic is not.

you forget that these 2 years

from the 18th to the 20th year

The Portuguese was the main one in the attack

And our whole game was about passing to him

I don’t care what the numbers say tbh. Higuain could play any position upfront. He had amazing first touch, he could throw you with his body move, he was better at first touch, passing, tech, vision and killer instinct and I bet he would outscore Vlaho in this Juve side but that’s my opinion.

read back a few posts for my opinion on his conversion rate. still the criticism is often exaggerated

Football isn't FIFA. Strikers usually miss plenty of chances. And you're proving my point-- he scored three great goals inc the two offside but missed one and everybody is making a huge noise about the one, when it didn't affect the outcome whatsoever

OBVIOUSLY I want him to score that 1v1, but making such a huge deal out of this miss in this context lays bare who the straight Dusan haters are.
How can you compare post knee injury Ronaldo missing 2 chances in the World Cup final against Germany to a 24 year old Vlahovic missing chances in the Coppa Italia against Cagliari's B team?

Yeah and we bought Ronaldo because Higuain was fading away and his second season was just decent. Even without Ronaldo his numbers would have probably continued to go down. Maybe not 11 goals in 44 matches but he was in clear decline.

And 23 goals in 50 matches for a complete number 9 is not impressive. I think Vlahovic can get better numbers this season.

Look at the posters here talking about conversions rates lol.

Ronaldo had .77 goals per match and people still lost their minds cuz he wouldn’t track back and the team had to play to accommodate him.

The same people praising Higgins now were mad about the fee paid. They did not care about him scoring goals it was all about the fee.

More proof that juve fans hate attacking players. No matter how good they will turn on the players for any reason

I don't care how much he scored

He is not an elite

This is Juventus, they won't wait here for 3 years

his level is the Slovak Championship

You're not making any sense mate.

All I'm saying is that Vlahovic is a monster No.9

Forget Higuain, Tevez and Ronaldo. They are in the past.

If you sell Vlaho now for 50-80 mil odds are you will not get a better replacement for that money. Any striker would be a huge gamble. With Vlahovic you know what you got. A solid No.9 that can provide a consistent(albeit not abundant) stream of goals. With Kenan and Cisco we have a good trident.

Let's focus less on buying/selling and more on improving what we've got. With Milik coming back from injury we don't need a striker or back-up. We just need a CB and WB. End of story

Vlahovic is a monster and extending his contract should be our highest priority. He's 24 and only getting better. He can continue to play his best football for another 5 or 6 years. We should sell him at 29, not at 25.

Apart from Ronaldo he is the best striker we've had since Tevez. Higuain was subpar apart from his first season.
Too far

Gotta be kidding me.

Higuain was a complete footballer, Vlahovic is a donkey compared to him.

that's a good point and it is absolutely true. strikers will always miss chances.

the difference is the conversion rate and shooting frequency. last time i checked vlahovic had a conversion rate of below 20% (~17% iirc). for comparison, last season haaland had a conversion rate of ~50% (this season he's closer to 20% too though). even isak was well above 40%.

watch this and try not to pull a guardiola on yourself:

this is the only deal breaker with vlahovic:
https://www.kickest.it/it/serie-a/statistiche/giocatori/big-chance-fallite - 10 big chances missed
https://www.kickest.it/it/serie-a/statistiche/giocatori/big-chance-fallite/2023-2024 - 17 (!!!)
https://www.kickest.it/it/serie-a/statistiche/giocatori/big-chance-fallite/2022-2023 - 9

that's 36 in the last 3 seasons (and counting), only considering league matches, in a team that has not had a shitload of chances. i don't mind him not scoring screamers on a weekly basis, i really don't expect anyone to do that. but when you face the goalie only and/or an open goal, you have to bury those with a higher efficiency.
Yep I want Dusan scoring at a far higher rate, but he is not a donkey. He is way expensive for what we can afford for what he offers.

If the wages come down and the team starts clicking he'll score far more and we'll all be far happier with him.

If he won't budge on price he has to go, which imo would be a shame.

Problem is, even IF we wanted to extend him, we can't. As he absolutely will not accept a pay cut. And there is no way he should get even more than what he gets now...

I see him run down his contract, leaving for chump change.

And Higuain was easily the better, more complete player. Get your eyes fixed.
