1v1's and sitters are easily his biggest weakness. the goal he scored was a difficult shot, this miss was a routine task for any b-grade striker. it's most probably a mental issue, he obviously has the technique to execute an easy low shot when facing the keeper only. and that makes him a very weird player
That's because they are pressure situations. His best work is done on instinct when he has no time to really think. You can virtually see him mentally tie himself up in knots when he has too much time and different options to finish. Elite strikers are almost robotic in how they operate. Dusan cares too much, he's too busy thinking about what the haters say.
There doesn't need to be an anti-Vlahovic sentiment to this, the problem is that for 85m you expect a 9/10, elite striker, and he's a 7/10. It's better him than no centre forward. He'll score goals for us as we still have one of the better squads in the league, and again, he's a good player who is sometimes very good. But personally, he's not what I hoped for. The guy might be elite at 27 or whatever but I suspect the inconsistency and lack of clutchness are a mental issue that won't disappear. He'll go on runs and spells like he usually does, people will be in here like "where the haters at?", he'll have droughts and the opposite will happen, but the fact these conversations even exist are telling in themselves.
Btw he missed a good chance first half as well yesterday where he blasted it over, it wasn't a sitter but was a good chance for a top striker.
