Riquelme failed in my view at barcelona , not because he cannot handle the pressure bjut because their play did not revolve around him. Players like he, Veron, Zidane etc have to be the focal point of a team otherwise they willnot shine in that team. Zidane is alleged went to the president to demand that Real madrid's play revolves around him when he realised that they were bypassing him in their play. There are many factors that come into play for a player's failure at a club, it could be his team mates decide not to pass to him or talk to him because he is getting more money or has taken the place of a friend in the team so I am not really going to go into all that. How Riquelme who played so well for Argentina taking on the mantle of replacing Maradona for Argentina will then show pressure at the nou camp does not make any sense.
As for our discipline well no need to go into sordid details, if you wanna believe what you like then thats up to you

Dario Dainelli has had his three-match ban reduced on the same day that he is being linked with a move away from Fiorentina.

The defender was handed the severe punishment for his verbal outburst towards the referee after he was sent-off in the 0-0 draw with Roma.

However, the suspension has been cut to just two matches after the Viola successfully lodged an appeal earlier on Thursday.

Dainelli, who already missed last week’s 2-2 at Atalanta, will still be out against Ascoli on Saturday but will return against Siena.

Nevertheless, Dainelli has also been in the news today after his name was associated with a switch to Juventus.

The versatile stopper, who joined Fiorentina in 2004 from Brescia, is out of contract in the summer and there is still uncertainty over his future.

Sporting director Pantaleo Corvino and the player’s agent have met to discuss a renewal, but finding an agreement is proving problematic.

As a result, the 28-year-old is attracting the interest of the Old Lady given his possible Bosman status.

Juventus, Torino battle for Fiorentina's Dainelli
tribalfooball.com - April 19, 2007

Juventus and Torino are battling for Fiorentina's Bosman prospect Dario Dainelli.

The defender won't consider penning a new deal offered by Fiorentina and is set to leave at the end of this season.

Torino president Urbano Cairo has already held tentative talks with Dainelli's management and will step up negotiations after Juve made their interest known this week.

Is he any good?
