Makes sense that he is the alternative to Di Maria as they're stylistically pretty similar. Both are smart and creative left-footed guys that like to cut in from the right. Either of them or someone else in a similar mould would add some much needed creativity to our attack.

People here act like scorned ex-girlfriends because Berardi rejected us 9 years ago or something like that. Everyone calls for loyalty but when he showed loyalty to Sassuolo and became a legend for them only makes him mentally weak, not loyal anymore apparently. Berardi has a special talent to make people in this forum react like he is worse than Simone Pepe while scoring a hattrick against Milan.

At which level has he failed? He has delivered in every competition he has competed in. Everyone loves Sassuolo's talents yet Berardi has been their best players for like 10 years straight, including last year when we signed Locatelli, and this year when everyone is thinking of Raspadori, Traore, Scamacca or Frattesi. If any of those players are signed and they grow to the level of Berardi it would be seen as a success.

We want someone the feed Vlahovic in a 433, he gave 17 assists this season, including 5 against the top 4 in Serie A

He isn't the next Neymar but neither is anyone in our team. It isn't a particularly expensive move for someone in his prime that has been outperforming most of our players in the league we play in.
The WC qualifiers?

I don’t think anyone here is denying that Berardi is a very creative player who has put in good numbers for Sassuolo during his stint there, however what many including me are questioning is whether he would be able to replicate that in an environment that neither will have him at the center of its project nor will it play the same type of pressure free attacking football that he grown to be accustomed to and that was not primarily results oriented…

Here winning games and trophies is what matters first and foremost , making both the pressure and expectations very high, something that Berardi has not had to deal with in neither of his nine seasons as a professional, so is somewhat normal to have doubts regarding his mentality or if he would be able to turn up for us when it matters most or if he will crumble together with the rest of the team at the first signs of adversity… what we really need atm is actual proven game changers that are strong mentally and not so much €40M gambles on players that are just as likely to flop as they are to hopefully turn up good for us.

Ofc it won’t be the end of the world if he comes tho, he might actually be a good market opportunity afterall if we also include some exchanges in the deal, but surely far from the ideal option for us and i still hope that we are also still exploring other tracks as well.

Who are the alternatives and would your concern over berardi apply to them too?

Like other players dont have these moments...
He is a very good player when playing in attacking mentality.
Sassuolo`s mentality is the opposite of our mentality though. Despite Juve being the top club - Sassuolo has a much more attacking mentality compared to Juve.

Can he be great in our team and is our team going to play the same counter like football or are we going to attack for a change this is the main question.

As for Zaniolo - Someone said he is way more talented and he is absolutely right but he is also inconsistent and Mourinho doesnt put him in his starting 11 regulary..

Kostic is being mentioned but I thought he is more of a rotation player than a plain starter ( I mean I thought he would be rotating with Di Maria rather than be our star LW..)

Gnabry is not a European Champion, lacks Marinara and doesn't have Serie A experience. He has no chance of succeeding here.

Which competitions are those exactly? Please enlighten us. He Scored 0 (FUCKING ZERO) goals for Italy at the Euros, and was only solid in like 2 games FFS!

Oh yeah, he has delivered for Sassuolo in Serie A. That's about it. What other competitions has he participated in and delivered? Ma Vaffanculo.

He is the epitome of a big fish in a medium-sized pond, the Cuntobile of wingers.

He's 28 years old, has never left the comfort of his little village in Sass, has no resale value, no upside, and would cost anywhere between 30 and 40 million. For that kind of money (add a bit more) and we can have a much better player. If we don't want to do that, at least go for someone younger with more upside and potential resale value should he flop.

I don't give two shits about stats. Many players have looked like world beaters playing for other clubs and failed elsewhere. Remember Turdeski? Remember Kulu not too long ago? Do you recall Giovinco at Parma? Exactly! Case Closed!
Bernardeschi is.. I wonder why he didnt become Maradona 2.0..

Do you genuinely think there’s no one else out there that would be available for the same money rumored in this deal, or at least around the same numbers? I’d like to think our scouting isn’t sleeping and that Di Maria, Berardi or Kostic are not the only wingers they could identify…

I don’t know exactly who i would choose instead over him as there are plenty of names out there, if not someone already proven on all levels then maybe someone younger that we could grow and mould aroud the club’s mentality, some are realistic while others not so much so i rather not start listing names, but i do know a thing or two about some of those that i have doubts about and i’d prefer us to avoid, even more so if the fee for him is rumored to be around €40M, which would put us only a bit short of what others such as Liverpool or Real Madrid paid for Diaz and Vinicius for example.

Nothing is ideal, however i was and still am hoping that we will aim higher than that.

So basically you can't provide any names. Also Vini was a nobody and diaz cost double what berardi will cost.

Also both Vinicius and Diaz cost under €50M based on transfermarkt and i am comparing to the rumored €40M asking price of Sassuolo, so no , it wasn’t double.

Vinicius was acquired for 46m in 2017 before he even turned 18, and spent a year in B team
yeah maybe not the best of examples as Real surely took a big gamble on him very early , but surely there’s plenty of other similar examples to the Diaz deal that we could learn a thing or two from.

What’s the rumored fee?
€40M is what Sassuolo is rumored to be asking for but we could potentially lower that by including some players in the deal, still a costly operation nonetheless.

In my opinion Berardi should be kept only as a last resort alternative after we first already tried everything for Di Maria, pushed for Mane who is also rumored to be on the market or even to see what Gnabry’s situation at Bayern is.

Lol Sassuolo is asking for 40m for anybody. Carnevale can’t count more than 40?
Overpriced if the rumored fee is correct.

40m is clearly a no go for Berardi. He’s a 28 year old untested in a big team and although his numbers for Sass in the last few years have been good he’s never really performed at international level.

He should have moved from Sass at 24 years old. He’s not particularly fast or tricky which for a winger isn’t great, he’d basically be as effective as Kulu or Berna for us. Resale value also would be non existent. I don’t hate the idea of him but it can’t be anything north of 25m
