Whoa youre 1.98m? thats pretty cool
Im 1.75 and I wish I were taller
Sort of. Everybody has given me the "do you play basketball" crap ever since I was a teenager (to which I would often reply, "Do you play miniature golf?" to shut them up).

It's great to have the height advantage for headers of course. And defensively, it comes in handy for tackling and deflections. I'm not sure how Jan Koller does it, but I could see it helping as a poaching striker (a la Trez). But it absolutely sucks in midfield. Major disadvantage.

I played defense pretty well against the crew on Wednesday. But I did score a goal at least, albeit on a quick one-hopper under the goalie after receiving the deflection on my corner kick. :D

The thing about being tall is speed. I'm slow as hell but I make up for it cause I can hold onto the ball.

Just don't kick the ball and expect me to outrun the defence.

Europeans are generally tall people correct?
It varies. There are rather a lot of us. Erik would be a little small by European averages, if that's where you're going.

Oh well yes that's definitely true. Especially in Holland I'm quite small. My size in clothes is S, sometimes XS.

6 ft is nothing special here in Holland. Don't really know about the rest of Europe though. Never paid attention to it

    Good news:

someone got injured and I'll have to start for the first team tomorrow. So I won't have to play a lousy reserve game in the rain today.

Wait a minute Greg, did you just say the Crew? Not the Columbus variety, correct?
    I wish!

Nah. That was just a colloquialism for the pickup game I played against a bunch of homies from the heart of the Mission District. Fortunately I watch enough Univision and Telemundo futbol where I was able to communicate well with the team. ;)

For a moment during that game, I kind of felt a little like a good friend of mine who grew up in the Mission. Although he's a native of Greece (he moved to the U.S. when he was 2), everyone in class gave him the nickname "GE" because his pale skin stood out among the student body like a 100-watt lightbulb. :D

As someone also of Lithuanian descent, ask Fli (though I don't know how tall he is) -- Lithuanians are generally world mutants when it comes to being tall.
