Islam extremists. Have you heard about atheist extremism. It fucking exists and is annoying. Some atheists would go as far as banning all religeon and that makes them as bad as the guys in the picture. It's almost like they have a duty to rid the world from the plague that is religeon. Like christian missionaries
Agreed, extremism of any kind is bad. Atheists should not be in that kind of business, they should know better.
The militant atheists I know are annoying, kinda like feminists or environmentalists. They should all smoke a joint and relax the fuck out.

freedom can go to hell

I think we have similar percentages here in the province of Quebec, we're by far the less religious region of the continent. Our churches are all empty and no one talks about religion here. Most polling don't give us as big percentages as yours but I think that's because people who respond to polls say that they are Catholics because they were baptized but in reality they aren't religious at all.

I'd say it's slightly worse and going to get significantly worse. Our current government(provincial) is a total mess and they are funding education less and less.

oh, actually my question was wrong. i guess i was more interested in the culture of ur education. does the educational system of quebec teach, what shall we call it, a more individualistic and critical approach to learning and information? (if its something u know of)

i know the scandinavian teaching tradition emphasise on being anti-authoritarian, liberal and independent - add the odd socialistic brainwash :D - which automatically creates a critical view on religion.

well let me change that to the swedish and danish system, tho the norwegian cant be that different?

from school all the way to university.
As far as I'm concerned there's no particular emphasis on those points. Of course it's not an education that promotes obedience either, there is no saluting the flag or similar bs.

there is in denmark, and im pretty certain also in sweden. danes going abroad is often credited for an independent and critical approach to what we study.

we learn in danish schools to ask "why" when we are presented with information, a claim or an argument. you dont see that in china to take an extreme example.

sadly my ex used to study this (pædagogisk psykologi) so shes taken the books about it with her

Yes, this is definitely present. But I'm not sure I would go as far as the other things you mentioned: anti-authoritarian, liberal and independent.

At least in Norway there is a very high degree of trust in society, so people are not really terribly inquisitive to check if what they're being told is true. And I think that goes for the educational system as well, despite it being a stated goal the implementation is somewhat modest.
