where am I mocking his belief? I am telling him he comes off that way because he makes his jokes of all beliefs then hides behind that BS phrase
Honestly?
Are you not seeing how similar you & Sheik respond to each other?

Which, by the way, is completely fine with me. Until, of course, someone comes up with one of those "don't talk to me in that way" lines.

P.S. This will never be an entirely civil discussion :D

No that was accurate if you thought about it instead of mocking everything that doesn't agree with your beliefs. You atheists are no different than the Wahhabi imams you want all to believe as you do if not you use horrid tactics to diminish those people.
Actually, the GPS analogy really wasnt any good.

Oh ok, I guess science has a more important objective then just to have an explanation, I wonder what that is... Maybe to get the next explanation that comes after that. Reminds me of a trapped mouse in a wheel, just running around in in the same spot.
Is that really how you think of science? Because tbh, science doesn't give a fuck about religion. People who study science, conduct experiments, and etc aren't doing it to disprove God or Allah or Budha or Zeus. They're doing it to figure out how the world works. How the whole universe works. But then you have people like AC who think it's better off to call everything a miracle. If everyone did that, we wouldn't be where we are.

It's due to science we have all these advancements nowadays and such a high standard of living. It's due to science that standard keeps getting higher day by day. It's scientists who are trying to find cures for cancer, making advancements in technology and the medical field, which in turn will lead to even higher standards of living. So yeah, I'd say it's far from a mouse running around in a circle.

All science does is provide an explanation? Wake the fuck up.

What a lucky man I am, living in this technocratic world, couldn't imagine anything better. Being able to suft the web through an ipad is certainly mankinds biggest achievement and ordering pizza anytime I want is a blessing.

If you consider surfing the web through an ipad mankind's biggest achievement then you're fucking retarded, that's all I have to say. Never mind everything else.

Right. Don't know what you're trying to say there.
He's against science and technology. I'll let you figure out how funny that is.

It would be a blessing if you lived in a world where you had to hunt animals for food, where agriculture was still unknown to man, and people exchanged information through carrier pigeons and human messengers. :agree:

For a religion, yeah.
One major difference I see between Hinduism and the religions we usually discuss here(Christianity and Islam) is that Hinduism isn't as scriptural as the latter. Like how Muslims and Christians quote Bible and Quran verses to make a point. I rarely see Hindus doing that here. These religions are practiced so differently, it's quite interesting.

thats what you think I'm doing? Wow really you don't get a thing I have said to you, nor do you want to. You make this a joke and to you it may be as to you we are nothing but cosmic dust, a mere accident and when you die things just go black. Yet to me there is so much more than that empty existence I have touched the other side and even though for the majority of my existence I live far a way from there once you have experienced it it changes you internally and permanently. Once the veil moves even for a little bit you will never believe just your senses again. I'm sorry that you think I am playing around here, but I believe in God with everything I am and to me it angers me when people who do not can not respect that. Maybe one day you will see a rip in that vail and get a glimpse, I pray you do but until then just listen to people and don't be so quick to dismiss them ya never know when it's God whispering to your soul
Being cosmic dust is not really such a bad thing. It means that the atoms that make up our body came from exploding stars and all the materials that originated in them. In a way, we are all connected to the universe and each other because of it. It's a really humbling thought, and I see no negativity or doom in that. When I die, things will be exactly like it was when I wasn't born/didn't exist. This leaves me with this one life, which is all I've got to experience. It gives my life so much more value and purpose. It's probably why I don't feel my existence is empty, but you do. And maybe that's why you touching the "other side" provides solace to you. I don't want or need to see the other side. I'll experience it when I go there. The afterlife, if any, can wait.

I see no reason why I should respect your or any other religious belief. I believe it's a weak concept that has no basis in reality. It instead makes up its own reality and asserts itself to be true with little to no evidence, and fallacious logic that still hasn't convinced me. I'd rather respect concepts based on nature and reality.

Oh, and if there is a god, I would rather he shout to my body than whisper to my soul.
