He was an imperfect man, whose extreme criticism of religion scared the shit out of some people. He certainly wasn't a shit stain.
So what if it's comedy? It's still a means to put your point across. Some people put it through movies, music, books, acting, radio, writing, and some people do it through comedy. Comedians like George Carlin and Bill Hicks don't simply make fun of religion and its ideas, but actually make you think about it from a different perspective. The only reason you find it distasteful is because you believe in religion.
I was kidding, man.
Of course I expect you to prove it, especially when you say "...that God exists (
which he does...". I'm avoiding what you're saying because it is irrelevant. It's a smear campaign that only breeds ignorance and hatred towards atheists. It does nothing to answer the criticisms of god and religion, and therefore, the discussion hits a dead end. It serves no useful purpose.
Look, 'god exists' is the primary proposition. Atheism is only a consequence of the critique god and religion, and the resulting rejection of that proposition. Since theists are the ones who made the primary proposition, the burden lies on them to prove that god really exists.
