Call me ignorant or whatever but I just can't comprehend the idea of God creating the world, a magical man in the sky, it is about as believable as the Easter bunny or Santa.

to each his own, and it is a pretty contentious issue, i share your very same position but on the other side of the spectrum. But how helpful or relevant is it to voice it? lemme give you this to think about, how much interaction have you had with humanity as a whole let a alone the universe, from the little i have seen i saw a lot of 'magic'.

or as believable as the universe creating itself
Thing is, we can't grasp the concept of "nothing". We don't know what "nothing" means. I am sure that when thinking of "nothing", most people think of a black space. But black isn't nothing, black is black. So there's really nothing to compare. All we know is existence.

I feel like sparking some arguments, why is God for example any more believable than Santa Claus? If when you were young let's say they swapped the bible/quran or whatever with children's stories would you be such staunch believers in jack and jill for instance?
My understanding of God is not exactly the one described in Qoran or in my childhood stories, I'm not religious. It's a notion, my comprehension of the universe. I'm not saying my God is more believable than Santa Claus, it's nothing to do with the history behind this term. It's my way of reasoning, that there's a creator, who I call God. I can think and I can reason, it leads me to the conclusion of God's existence. Even if there was not a God, I'd still think there is one and it's exactly why man have thought of it throughout the whole history of universe. That's why I said it's all okay to me if it was man who created God as I do believe nothing is created unless its existence is necessary.
