Martin, I think you're conflating internal knowledge with external knowledge as the only true form of knowledge.
That's why I compare it to psychoanalysis. Which is knowledge too, in a veeeery loose sense of the term. To the point where it becomes inextinguishable from hot air.

To quote swag just a few posts higher up "terms are of only secondary importance", so if it doesn't matter what religion means then I guess it doesn't matter what knowledge means either?
Maybe I read you wrong, but it sounds like you discounted any value in knowledge of the self.

I don't think it is irrelevant, though, to try and better understand where something comes from in order to better understand where we could be going.
Yes it is because when looking at the founders and their frame of mind that wasn't in their thought. So using that as you did to basically counter my argument of human immorality didn't fit the point. One is your opinion which wasn't held by those who formulated a nation based on those laws

I would get into a discussion and ask a lot of questions and learn first, judge second. The difference is in judging first and then looking for patterns in the observational data to fit your preconceived hypothesis.
I honestly fail to see how this answers either of my questions.

why do you show such a disdain for non-believers? ever wondered why people see as narrow minded, ignorant, closed off and arrogant?

you have no respect for science, which you have proven time and time again, when you try to discuss matters that has its basis in scientifical studies. like crime and economics. you deny empirical evidence to suit ur faith. its so disrespectful towards us who have faith in science and the humankind.

ur taking part in this discussion serves no purpose but to preach.

Yes but I'm not antagonist about it. I also have doubts at times don't think that my faith is always rock solid. Youre problem is you worry too much about looking gullible or less intelligent. The search for God in the end is your own and what others think means shit
Wrong again about what I'm worrying about. Also, just because my search for god looks different from yours, doesn't make mine any less valid. We are looking for the same thing. What differs is our starting point and our methodologies.

Hey I never said your search was invalid nor did I say it wasn't honest. I just said that sometimes you go about it in a hard way

The original line of questioning, if I'm correct, was Huitz saying that he wants a move away from religion in government, which you countered with your talk of the founding fathers and Judeo-Christian morality being the base of the United States. What I was trying to say is that we have moved on from that line of thinking, and that morality is not an invention of Judeo-Christians, so why should we be limiting ourselves to that what the forefathers thought? How is that irrelevant?
