oh really?
i honestly think that Dp time and time again, overthinks when he gets the ball. like this:

Ok, i've got the ball, im gonna this way, but if i go this way, he's gonna tackle me and i'll fall, so should go that way and surprise him! But wait, aha, he'll probably think im gonna try that, so i'll make him THINK i'm going this way, when he go this way too, then i'll pretend to go that way, and then he'll just slide to stop me coz he's already going the other way.

by the time he's comes up with this seriously confusing shite, the defender prolly already has tooken the ball from DP and started a counter. i've seen that quite alot.
Sorry, but that's the stupidest thing that I've heard in a while.:D

No no, DJ, i think you win John #10 here

Anyway, abt what you've said in the 1st post, i think that DP is great in many areas like free kicks, penalties, ball control, leadership and also that undescribable thingy that John #10 said (John..... i think i get what you were saying  )

DP may not be the wold's best in any of these areas but he is undeniably gd at them and it is definately an asset for Juve to have him.

I know this may call for some criticism, but i must say that i'm not sure that DP's such a great asset.

Sure, he's an icon, and a good presence to have on the field, but after seeing our other players' performances in Alex's absence, I get the feeling that I might see DP as an opportunity cost, if we have to leave Marco or Mico on the bench. They're such effective players, and I'd be :broken: if Lippi left them to rot on the bench, and continued to play an out-of-form and unfit DP just to please the fans.

crossing is sumink he is pretty good at imo, also his freekicks...

but to sum him up he is often intimidated by strong class defender like nesta, Rio etc, these means he often looks silly wiv him loosing the ball and not looking motivated, but his class is what he is. He may not always produces ,but for sum reason he ooozes class and flair, that not a othe rplay has, totti aimar etrc have a different class, but dp has a different class, hard to explain, but di canio is kinda a similarity in the class he has......................man this must sound stupid:D
too much CLASS for u :D

I hope that Lippi will find a way to play our captain and the other subs in a good rotation systaem.

There is no way to have those guys in the bench
Believe , if we do so,,, you will see miccoli and divaio saying babai in a season or so.

I understand you Gray. On both occasions when DP was injured for some time, in Feb and now, Juve's been able to cope well without him.

But when i said that he's a great asset for us, what i meant was ........ Dp's a guy with alot of skill and class. He may not be the best in the world and he may not the most impt/necessary person in this squad, but we are much better off having him in our squad rather than not.

Also, for these 2 absent spells, we have done well without him. But if this were in the long run.... even if we played with Micoli and DV.... we'll probably loose out a couple goals that we could have gotten if Dp was around. Goals from free kicks, goals that require a great amount of skill ( <--- sori, here i don't really know how to discribe this in words :down ) I don't know if Dv and Mico can do/score these.

Yes, totally agree with you here! I want to see them more too.

I really don't know what Lippi has in mind but this is the thought that has been in my mind since we got Mico and gang. How are we going to rotate all these guys? i mean... .... each of our new players are great and i'd hate to see them "rot" on the bench. They are too gd for that and if they don't get enough playing time, they might not stay??

Maybe that's the extent of it then... it's better to have him in the squad, but maybe not necessarily on the first team every single game, which is what i fear will happen when he returns to full fitness

:eek:if he thinks that much the result will be that he simply lose the ball.

But he missed 3 in a row this season ;)
i said last season but any way i see that DP is very skilful he's creative he's got one of the best free kicks in the world, just cause this season he isnt at his best doesnt mean the guy doesnt have strong points.
