So basically the guy is sold and was asked a question from some media type and he answers. People shouldn’t be so naïve about his answer or the possibility of things being taken out of context or misconstrued.

Big fucking deal.

For the past 2 weeks people have been ranting and raving about the guy and how great he is and the moment he leaves and supposedly says something about this club he’s no longer viewed as a talent? People around here need to grow up or shut up.

Diego blasts Juve’s Marotta
Thursday 2 September, 2010
Juventus reject Diego has attacked director general Beppe Marotta for his transfer dealings over the summer.

Diego was one of numerous players shipped out of the club by the official after Marotta, who arrived from Sampdoria at the end of last term, was asked to rebuild the Old Lady.

Although Diego was seemingly sold for tactical reasons as he didn’t fit in Gigi Del Neri’s 4-4-2 system, he’s told the Gazzetta dello Sport that Marotta and not the Coach is to blame for his exit.

“Del Neri told me that I was a part of the project in May and also after the Trofeo TIM and that made me happy,” he said.

“However, I looked at Marotta and understood that he was working in another direction. He was doing everything possible to sell me.”

Diego was sold last week to Wolfsburg for an initial €15m, just a year after Juve paid Werder Bremen €24m for his services.

“My sale has cost the club financially,” the Brazilian added. “Marotta doesn’t know how to treat champions like myself and David Trezeguet.

“If Marotta had comported himself in a different manner with me then we both could have worked on a move and Juve would have netted more money.”

Not only did Diego criticise Marotta for his own sale, but he also blasted the transfer guru for his overall mercato strategy.

“Marotta decided to sell me because he wants just Italians and that is the wrong road to go down,” he warned.

“Juventus have made a mistake with their signings, a lot of good players have arrived but no champions.”
Italians sucks , just Chiellini,Buffon,Marchisio,Bonucci,Giovinco,ADP deserve to stay in Juve , the rest of italians should go they suck .

For Eduardo sake!!! Marotta wants to be the new juventus idol! He knows that Del Piero is too old, so, he eventually, will end his carreer, and also he knows that no man in the world can be, like that handsome blond guy, that we use to call Nedved, so Krasic, wont be an idol!!! He sells Diego, for clearly strategic reasons, it makes total sense sell a player who cost 24 million, in 15million, it make as much sense as the sale of Ibra to Milan, and the poor Van der Vaart to a incredible fast team. It seems that the new men in power are incredible reliable making marketing decisions....

Grandejuveks, I just cant agreed with that. Marchisio is a good player but constantly he shows his biggest problem, he cant manage big responsabilities, he will play like he never played befores, only if all the team plays incredible great. Giovinco has a similar trouble. And you also ignore players like Lanzafame, hes full of energy, he lacks of intelligence in some cases, but hes just a boy. Also I prefer De Ceglie than Traore, he wants to be there, traore in the other side, dont want to be in Juventus.

:lol2:

And they say it is not sour grapes. Seriously, he should get over the fact that he was shipped away.
Diego has every right to be sour over the situation - in his place, I certainly would be sour, and I'm sure you would as well.

Of course he will get over it, but considering it just happened, voicing his opinion on the situation is perfectly normal.

If I were given an opportunity to go back somewhere that I had my greatest successes, absent from media criticism that I faced for almost a year, and with a significant pay raise to boot, what exactly would I have to be upset about?
You absolutely know this is a simplistic, superficial way of looking at the situation.

There are plenty of reasons for him to be upset, and I know that you're a smart guy, so I'm not going to list them.

Diego.

Very much agreed with his comments.
So do I. Maybe a slight exaggeration with the bit about 'only' Italian players - although that could be the translation as well - but otherwise, the guy is spot on.
