Well Quagliarella is certainly a stop-gap solution, at least I hope.

Look, I don't really agree with selling Diego this year but if we are to become a top club again and perform in Europe then at some point we were going to have to change out Diego for someone better.

Well buddy, that's totally speculative. Bremen actually did perform in Europe (albeit the Europa league), but I digress somewhat there.

I understand what you're ultimately saying (we need more quality up front), but we'll just have to agree that we disagree here. I obviously rate Diego's quality more than you do.

Ferrara: 'I'd have kept Diego'
Monday 6 September, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ciro Ferrara says he would have tried to keep Diego if he were still in charge of Juventus.
The former centre-back got the boot in January after leading Juventus to a disastrous string of results.
Juventus have been overhauling the club ever since both on and off the pitch.
Diego was sold to Wolfsburg just a year after completing a €25m transfer from Werder Bremen.
Interviewed on Sky Italia, Ferrara said: “For me, Diego deserved another chance.
“There is an argument to be made between the technical and financial side of things.
“The distance with respect to Del Neri's ideas was evident. But I would have given him another chance.”
Ferrara then reflected on Juventus' chances of winning the Scudetto following the arrival of several new players.
“A revolution was in the offing and it was logical after such a negative season.
“The team needs time. Several players who made history with the club have left and some youngsters and foreigners have arrived.
“It's seems like the right mix to me.
“All the teams in Serie A are behind Inter looking to close the gap. We'll need to see if Inter's players still have the hunger to win. A little satisfaction is normal.
“Juve can match the Nerazzurri together with Milan and Roma.
“Benitez will always be compared with Mancini and Mourinho. It will be difficult for him.
“Ibra can contribute to the re-launch of Milan, but he can't win it by himself,” Ferrara concluded.
