All the more reason to try and catch some sun tommorow, not sleep through the day because of your internet-life.

Yours are top notch, though.
You couldn't have picked a worse time to use that as an insult considering I just spent five days camping out in the wilderness. But I will let it go. You just can't seem to get it right today.

I couldn't have known that, could I? I don't spend hours on this forum every day. I'm sorry. :frown:

It's done folks. I'm sorry. Andy's -rep with the message "you're an idiot" was like a nail in my coffin. I'm not getting back from that one.

And you two don't exactly help the situation by continuing the off-topic. :p

I don't like folks who use words they don't understand. Diego has been our best player and was bought at market price. Whatever his price tag was, that doesn't determine being a flop or not. The fact you used that shows you don't understand the word flop, nor do you understand economics.
Not directed specifically at you, Andy, but I really can't get my head around it why so many people herald Diego as our best player this season.

I'm NOT blaming Diego, that was invented by the teethbrusher. Look at my initial post, couple of pages back. It would be stupid and unfounded to blame him (alone) since he's having his first season and quite a few things have just gone shit for us, from the inept board, to coaches, injuries and overall under-par performance from a lot of our players. This whole episode was a response to Andy's (failed) attempt of provocation about Modric.

However, I don't want to see him shielded and exempt from criticism like a lot of people here are doing. Fact of the matter is, Diego was brought here with certain expectations and he has indeed FAILED on them. Our gameplay has not improved, our creativity and flair has not improved, not to mention created chances per game, have not gone up. Sure he can't do everything alone and he really doesn't have much to work with, but all those things were still expected of Diego. That is WHY we have bought him. Whether you classify that as a flop, mild under-achievement or "he's still the best out of this shit-lot", that is fine by me. Just don't go around blaming others for Diego's failure. Don't. His failure is his own, just like every other player's in this team and the team as a whole.

Then again if any of you want to see a light at the end of the tunnel and think of Diego's performace as that light, that's fine by me. I just don't see it that way. I'm not sad we spent 25 mil on him, he's talented and I'll save my personal final verdict on him after next season, but for this year, he doesn't get a passing grade. Like I said, being best out of this shit-pile, doesn't make you good, only less shitty and that isn't enough for me.
There's just no denying that. Our play was supposed to improve with him, yet we've been playing even worse than we did under Capello/Deschamps/Ranieri. So his transfer has definitely turned out to be a flop (so far), even though Diego is obviously not the only one to take the blame for it. Far from it.

Also, we should remember that we had countless great players who difficult, under par 1st seasons (Zidane & Nedved the most famous ones), so all hope is definitely not lost for Diego. Unlike Melo possibly.

Both of them has performed better than Diego.
marchisio better than diego? i don't think so. The kis is great but what diego did to us..the way he single handedly took over our creeation..him becoming the man who recieves a bad pass from momo/grygera and sending it in to players who don't even struggle to get in position..i donno, he's a hard worker that diego..he really can't do wonders having 2 dms in his ass and one lonely striker in the front that didn't scored for almost a fucking year.

performance is not measured only by numbers, it is quite clear that Marchisio has been a fundamental player for us this season...Diego might have the better numbers, but Marchi's tenacity and consistency has been a lot better.

diego was always fit for us (except for the first two weeks iirc) marchisio had that injury..that's why in my eyes diego counted more for us.
