The Dortmund game was embarassing. We were the superior team and everybody knew it. Dortmund winning it was one of those surprises of the season, kind of like Porto winning it the year after Milan. Besides we were the defending champs so that eased it a little.

Against Milan we lost it to a direct rival after missing out on European silverware for a long time. And losing because we missed a key player based on stupid yellow cards hurts all the more.

Milan hurt waaaay more, IMO.
the Real game hurts we did everything bu nothing worked, milan game we missed Nedved and the Dortmund game.. well it i remembered well Peruzzi was at fault for the 2nd goal with an amazing goal from Dp .. wasn't it in germany

I wonder what the shot of his hands was all about in the first video. He must have been a tad nervous.

I can't wait to see this guy play. The first home game is going to be nuts.

I don't know.

Dortmund hurt because we were so much better and Real hurt because it was an offside goal.
Madrid hurt because it was the second time in a row. And the only way Dortmund could have been worse is if they had been an English club instead.

Milan didn't hurt as much because frankly we were all used to it by then.

True. I never felt like we were going to win against Milan. The Dortmund game was the worst for me.

I had no way to watch Dortmund, so I didn't see it unfold minute by minute. But Madrid, that was devastating. DP was playing so poorly and fouled constantly. Zidane and Pippo came close a few times, but then that goal against us came and it was all over.

And put that in contrast to 96 when we were so resourceful, it felt unreal.

That semifinal with Manchester hurt me as much as a lost final. Nothing worked for us that season, we did awful in the league (ended up in bloody Intertoto). We made it to the semi with a 90 minute goal by Conte against Olympiacos and then in the semis we led 1:0 till the last minute in Manchester when Giggs equalised.
We start the return leg with 2 Inzaghi goals, everything goes great and then.... :(

After two lost CL finals and after a disastreous domestic season, that Manchester episode was the last thing i needed back then.

All finals are hearbreaking finals when your team is playing. I remember the one against Manchester in 98 and Dortmund the final I couldn't help it but cry.

The one vs Milan, god that was terrible, didn't eat for like 2days stayed home for more than a day doing nothing but thinking about this game.

Probably the Milan one hurts more because we lost it in Pk's.

thats the only reason that makes losing to milan in that cl final bare able to be honest. the worst has got to be the one against madrid.

I remember that goal from Conte. I was quite young and I was angry because I thought there was no way we were going to play semifinals. So I went to bed five minutes before the end. And then the next day, I still felt depressed, I turn on the news and I see we qualified :D.

people plz stop talking about this depressing stuff...brings back some really bad memories
Here's something better.

Manchester won their match, made it to the semis and they knew Olympiacos will be their probable opponent. Then Conte scores in the last second and takes us to the semis, which meant that Manchester will have to play against Juve, not against Olympiacos.
