The chances of Modric joining us are slimmer than of Roberto Baggio coming out of retirement and playing for us again.And even if he was signed somehow,you cant say wether a player will be a success or a flop before he's even played for you.I know nationalism can effect your perception of the future,but still
I really am not nationalistic, if I am than it's really light nationalism, though I understand why it may seem that way. Thing is, in my eyes, Modric is already proven as he can get. Throw him in any leauge in the world, he will shine, I have no doubts about that. It's been a long time since I was so certain about any player.
I havent seen enough of Modric so i dont know how adaptable he is to different styles of play.But my point is that there have always been players who were expected to do great things when they made the move from small leagues to bigger leagues,and it didnt work out for them entirely.They showed flashes of brilliance,but ended up crumbling under the weight of expection eventually

I don't think Aimar was a flop. He was very good for Valencia untill..*cough* *cough*..Ranieri came and figured Fiore would be a better choice. That and injuries are the reasons his career went downhill, even though at the time he had already proven himself IMO. He won 2 titles, UEFA Cup, runner up in the CL.
Thing with Modric is, he's proven himself on the International stage and I believe when you do what he did, at such a young age, there's little left to accomplish. Club based success will come to him I'm certain, he's mature, level-headed and immensly talented.
The only scenario in which Modric would flop IMO would be some series of horrible injuries. But that won't happen.

I think that Messi is a phenomenon and even then I think he would flop if he were to play in england. Bc he wouldn't be able to adapt to their football.
PS: No offense or anything like that, but I think that u are being bias when it comes to Modric. But only time will tell.
That and I also believe adopting to a different leauge depends 99% on the player's head, his mentality, and not on his playing style which ultimatelly depends mainly on training. If you settle properly in a new enviroment, you'll easily enough adopt to a different playing style via training and matches. If you're a good player anyway.
exactly...an example of that is Reyes..i dont go with the common perception that says he couldnt adapt to the EPL..his first two months in his full season he outscored Henry and he was our best player..but he was mentally fragile..He didnt like being kicked all match long by the Neville sisters,he hated the trips up north to Bolton-Blackburn etc, he hated Henry and he hated England....

Eduardo really came from the gutter and I think he has strong determination. This season has really been tough on him, everyone's asking for his money all of a sudden. From the manager that brought him to Dinamo and the shady contract he signed with him as a kid, to some family he lived with when he first came to Croatia. He's got a lot on his mind and it's holding him back I think. And as you said, Wenger is always cautious with new signings in the first season. We'll have to wait and see, but I think he can break the curse.
After watching him play for his country..i am convinced that he would be a big hit for us..what i like most about him is his professionalism..he never complained to the press for not getting enough chances..he's keeping his head down,working hard and trying to prove himself whenever he gets a chance...the same cannot be said about Diarra Bentdner and co..which is why i took a special liking to him...
I cant wait till he adapts..finally seeing the woeful Adebayor on the bench would be a dream come true for me..i also believe RVP and Eduardo would compliment each other well...
IMO he should get a start upfront against Sevilla..We already qualified so what bad can it be?

Diego Would Make Madrid Move Easy - Report
Diego is keen to complete his dream move to Real Madrid and would help the transfer along one things are in motion, according a report in Spain.
The Werder Bremen midfielder wants to join a European giant in orer to win trophies and is keen on teaming up with his former Santos teammate Robinho at the Bernabéu.
According to AS, if Madrid were to make their move then the Bundesliga side would accept a bid of around €18m, but they will only let him go next summer.
"It is very difficult to say no to Madrid," Diego's father, Djair Ribas de Cunha explained. "But nobody has made any contact with me."
Bernd Schuster has already stated that he a big fan of the Brazilian playmaker and has reportedly told the Madrid board that a creative midfielder is all that the squad is missing.
The German coach also believes that Werder would find it hard to resist a substantial offer for their star player. "They are a selling club," the coach was quoted as stating.
In Brazil, a friend of the player believes that Diego's desire to win things at the highest level could drive any deal through.
"It is frustrating for him to be in a team that cannot win anything," Fabiano Papeig said. "He has dreams and desires and Madrid could fulfil those.
