We really need diego, he can change the whole team and he's exactly the missing link in juve. 25-30 million euros IMO is his fair price anything more than that would be a big risk that we just can't afford.......

Diego plays the same position as Giovinco right?
i don't know for sure, but as far as i know, giovinco is far less offensive then diego. Also, i think giovinco can play a little more on the left. Should that be true, we could do something like:

Giovinco -- Diego -- Camoranesi
------- Sissoko --- Zanetti -------

with diego moving forward of course... maybe i should have put him in a line for himself above giovinco-camo. :)

Secco Meets Diego - Report
Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco met with Werder Bremen star Diego yesterday as negotiations begin over a possible summer transfer.

The Bianconeri have identified a new top-class centre midfielder as their number one priority ahead of next season.

This campaign Juve have badly struggled in the middle-of-the-park, with virtually no creativity on offer.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Werder Bremen playmaker Diego, and his father Djair Da Cunha, met Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco in Germany yesterday to discuss a possible summer transfer.

The main problem revolves around the transfer fee. Werder Bremen are demanding €30m, while Secco is only prepared to pay €20m.

However it is possible that Bremen may lower their demands if Diego makes it clear that he really wants to leave.

The 23-year-old’s contract at the club runs until 2011, and he currently earns €3.5m a year, a salary that would rise to €4m were he to join Juve.

Juventus will have to move fast if they want to sign Diego, and reports over the past few days have claimed that Real Madrid are not too far away from reaching an agreement to sign the star.

Indeed, Spanish sports daily Marca claimed this morning that the blancos are Diego's preferred option, and that this could play in their favour both in terms of agreeing terms with the player and negotiating a more modest transfer fee.

Barcelona, Atletico Madird and Premiership-giants Chelsea are also said to be lining up possible bids.

Diego's Father In Madrid Admission
Highly sought after Werder Bremen playmaker Diego is favouring a move to Real Madrid, according to his father who also doubles as his agent.

Speculation surrounding the Brazilian international's future has picked up in intensity in recent weeks, with rumours of clandestine meetings with Juventus officials and mega-offers from Chelsea abounding.

Whatever the case may be, it seems increasingly unlikely that Diego will still be a Werder player beyond the summer, despite the fact that he has just recently committed to a new contract binding him to the Bundesliga club until 2011.

"Diego would definitely like to play for Real Madrid," said Djair da Cunha, before insisting that Bremen is in ultimate charge of his son's destiny.

"Real Madrid is a great club, a very important club. But I am his only legal representative and I can assure you that for the moment there is nothing.

"If Real Madrid are interested, they must say so. But I think that would be better at the end of the season. Now is not the time.

"It does not depend on us."

well i'm not so sure about that. Real is willing to pay a lot, that's sure. But considering that they don't "desperately" need a trequartista (i mean look at their squad, they don't really need diego), they won't pay that much more than he's worth. So even if it may be hard but i think we could compete up to a certain level with real. Maybe our fiat-riends are willing to make a donation, now that the cinquecento is selling so well :) And of course, diego himself says these things to push himself out of transfer-talks, but i'm pretty sure if albinoleffe came and made a 40-mio bid for diego, he would do something against it :D He has an italian passport, he has ancestors in piemonte...... it's not that impossible
When New Holland became our sponser didnt we sign a contract that included financial bonuses for CL qualifacation??

Diego hopes for Real deal
Tuesday 18 March, 2008

Diego is set to snub Juventus in the hope of joining Real Madrid, according to the Brazilian star’s father.

The midfield ace is winning plaudits in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen where he has found the net 10 times so far this term.

Juve sporting director Alessio Secco met with Diego yesterday to discuss a possible move to Turin in the summer, but it seems that his heart is elsewhere.

“Diego would like to play for Real Madrid, but I can tell you that there are no negotiations at the moment,” Diego’s father Djair da Cunha said.

“If Real were interested then I would be able to discuss things for sure, but we will have to wait for the end of the season.”

There may be a twist in the tale, however, as Real’s sporting director Pedja Mijatovic told Marca last week that the Merengues aren’t interested in adding Diego to the ranks.

i'm pretty sure they did. But let alone sponsor-money, i think the money we get for only playing CL (even if only group stages) are a big help too. I don't know how much it will be, but combining them with the money from new holland, plus touching our planned budget SHOULD really be enough to get him. But we know already that money won't be the main problem. It's what diego wants what will matter in the end. Plus, CL is not in the bag yet... we shouldn't spend money we don't have yet.

IMO, he will come to Juve. However, I think our squad must learn Arsenal's style, we don't build a team around any one but some and we are united. Look at ManU, they just play around a big star, C.Ronaldo with arrogant face and IMO, he is a coward. So, ManU plays badly when C.Ronaldo isnt in good form.

We just don't need a big arrogant star. But I believe if Diego comes to Juve, he will learn how to be a big part of a big flag (at Alex).

Doubt the nationality plays a part when it comes to a player like Diego.
And besides, we only recently had Emerson in our squad.
The money part might cause a problem, but him being Brazilian won't.
He has (or could get) Italian passport... ;)
But that is just "tallk" for him to come to Juve...I don't think that will happen...

Would we snap up Diego with Madrid in the running?I dont think so.Not with Secco incharge.Plus Diego apparently wants a Madrid move too, which is silly on his part TBH,as Madrid arent the force that they were, and with players like Robben,Sneijder etc on their payrool,Diego wont be guaranteed a starting place every match. At Juventus, the chances of Diego becoming a bigger star than at Madrid at much higher, and his style would make him stand out,and he would get a lot of playing time too.

The Kaka situation could move Diego in our favour though. If Real have another go for Kaka and end up buying him,i dont see them buying Diego. That would leave the door open for us to make a move. However,if Diego wants the money he'd go to Chelsea.

with the Kaka situation i don't if Milan want to let him go due to the fact they want to be fighters for the scudetto in 2009 and also that Kaka stated he wants to end his career with Milan and signed a contract extension....if Real really wanna buy Kaka they are gonna offer a crazy amount like 90million...

U did exaggerate "a little"...For that kind of money you can get Diego (22 years) & Aguero (20 years) = (70m€) and still got 20m€ left...
But Madrid has Robinho, Roben, Snjader as "playmakers" so i don't see them dish out 30m€+ for Diego...
