Its comical really, to see so many posts exclaiming 'no chance of getting him now!'...Why are they appearing?? because of our form??? Because the all conquering Bayern Munich may want him to replace Ribery??? I do not see how Munich have a greater pulling power than we do. The lad said he wanted to play in Italy, that he wanted to play for us...So what makes everyone so sure that if Bayern make the call, then Diego will say 'ok, im there!!!'...Munich isn't his dream. Becoming one of the greatest players in the game is his dream...Also, it doesn;t look great for munich if when they have one of the world's greats, Ribery, they cannot win anything of note...And he wants to leave, to go to a team where he can win something important.

Sissoko, we did Ok with. Amuari, I have thought for a while that we paid too much, but he has been useful, and perhaps will shine brighter next season when, or if, we have Diego behind him, pulling the strings...Alonso...I never read him saying that he wanted to sign for us, only that we are a team of great history and prestige...Milito, too much $$$...So, NO, i do not see a consistent failure to sign players who would actually like to play for us...some bad signings, YES...but nothing to suggest he is 100% incapable of getting players who we say we want, who say in return they want us, then we fuck up, further down the line of negogiations.

I still remain optimistic, just not quite as much as before. Here are my reasons:

1.) Not because of Bayern so to speak, but the guy has definitely made a huge name for himself this season so it is obvious other teams as big as us (or bigger) would like to have him and can easily afford him.

2.) We are not looking as good as we were before Christmas and the media makes it sound like our big stars want out so why would any want to come? To play with Grygera and Marchionni?

3.) Our coach lacks ambition and balls. I fear for CR's ability to handle another star or two to the team when he can't even command the respect of his current team. If I notice it all the way in Virginia, USA then Diego notices it as well.

4.) The way our team has mentally crumbled in a matter of a month does not look inviting for a star or world class talent.

~I personally think that if we can get a new coach to give us a sense of team unity back and a coach that the players WANT to play for and show respect towards then yes, we have the history and fan base that make us attractive still. But fame does not always bring great players, they want a coach that they know will win and play great football. Look at all of Mourinho's past and current players, all they have are great words of respect for him and enjoy having him as their boss. When has anyone said that for CR?

~Long story short, if our team continues to look like amateurs with an amateur coach...my concern is who wants to give up the next 4-6years of the most IMPORTANT years of their career to a team like that? We need to get back to our old ways fast. We don't play attractive football, we have some great players and then some bad players, we concede first too often and have to play catch up, we have players storm out on the pitch at halftime cussing up and down the sidelines, we have players that argue with the coach via media and start friction, we have a very inconsistent board of directors, we have very inconsistent performances, we have a coach that leaves world class players on the sidelines and for some reason "appears" to play for a draw, we have a coach that is reluctant to take a risk to get the win, plus the media always bashes our board and secco and that of course comes as a negative view to anyone considering wearing our jersey.

Like i said, I still remain optimistic...just not as much before.

I agree with everything you wrote, Mr H...Its like my girlfriend said a couple of days back...when she saw the GOAL headline on the screen:
Buffon : 'WE ARE SHIT'.
Its not a great advert for the best goalkeeper in the world to be telling the world we are shit. The same regarding the situation with Trezeguet. Yes, Iaquinta has undeniable heart, but he is not in the same class as Trez when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net, yet how much has he played since becoming fit after his injury lay off????

Like you, Mr H, I will try to focus on the positives, and remain confident, though increasingly concerned with our current form. It makes sense for a player like Diego to go to a team with the greatest potential to challenge for honours at home and abroad...We need to in the very least confim third place, and really, to say the season has been even in some small way a success, we must grab second. That would make us far more attractive to any truly class players we are trying to persuade into the bianocneri jersey...

Hopefully we get some positive news in the next couple of weeks as the season nears an end.

Tell him I will be his cook and he will never have to worry about food again. Buerkelicious will be his gardener and Andy will be his accountant and handle the bills. Rab, you can be his driver, Mark can be his housekeeper and Alen can be his bodyguard.

Together we will make this move happen right after we storm Juve head quarters.
