I certainly won't say no to a great MC, or as you call it, a creative midfielder.

As for how much such player is needed in January, i'm not sure. There is a strong chance that with or without such a player we end up 2nd in serie A and end up eliminated from Chelsea.
For next season i tend to agree with you that such a player is needed.
