Nope. It's true. If you think otherwise, you are delusional. The current batch of Italian players is largely mediocre, with a few exceptions in midfield, a couple of quality wingers, one CB and a LB.
Barella, Tonali and Bastoni are not coming here anytime soon, probably ever. We already have Chiesa. Who else is left? Zaniolo and perhaps Gnonto and Udogie. Cristante and the like are trash.

Also like him or not, Berardi is a leader for Sassuolo and would be a huge improvement to our squad and alongside Chiesa would produce a shit ton of chances for Vlahovic.
Chiesa - Vlahovic - Berardi
Pogba - Locatelli - Barella
Anyone we don't have - De Ligt - Bonucci - Cuadrado

Then you still have players like Tonali as you mentioned that could fit in as well. This is a dynamic, young lineup that would make a great TEAM that key pieces of wouldn't ask to leave every season. We couldn't even keep Dybala, and he was here for years. If you can't see that, then you're the delusional one.
Or tell you what, we could do what we have been doing, overpaying for players like De Ligt who will start to become unsettled after a few years and look to leave while we win nothing in the meantime. I know what I prefer, I know what I would feel more attached to as a fan. If we don't go for promising domestic talent now like Gnonto or look to develop our own such as Fagioli or Miretti, we're going to be stuck in these cycles for a long time and we both know it.
