i will never understand some of you people

what the **** is your problem with Del Piero ..

what the hell did he ever do bad to Juventus ??

did he ever harm the club in any way? am i missing something here?

i really dont know what is the problem..why some of you what del piero to be sold? he is not untouchbale as he used to be if he plays bad he sits on the beanch its as easy as that and there is no reason to bench him if he countinues to play like he is playing now..why sell him? i really dont understand ... i think that juve should never sell him as long as he whats to be in the club , you dont just wake up one day and decide to sell your most loved player the captin of the club a player that has been wearing the juventus bianconeri proudly fo 12 years ,

Juventus will still be a good football team if alex left cauze you can find many replecements for him there is tons of great player around the world, but it will be a juventus without a heart... maybe for some of you its not important but for me it is very much

juve has had hundreds of captains and i am sure they all have been loved, but we have moved on.
You are right!! and most of them I am sure finished their careers with juve.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++

and what does that prove? so has tachinardi, and montero and plenty others who have or will have to leave when they time has come
Del Piero gave the team more than the players you have mentioned..

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
thats not even an argument, the team won those with his and everybodies else contribution.
yes you are right, but he was a major factor in all of them.. Including this year's scudetto.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
how many of those in the last 4-5 years ?
I agree not as many as before, but looking at statistics we reached the final more between 1993-1998 than 1999-2005 which means more games --> more goals.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
and? i m sure there are plenty who are if not just as good, they are good enough
We are looking at a package here not just a single feature..

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
i m sure he gets all the credit for the goals. the team never helped him for anything :rolleyes:
No, neither does any other player who scores a goal in this whole world.. it takes a team to win and it takes a team to lose. My argument was that he still scores a good number despite not playing as much games as, lets say Ibrahimovic.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
i would say he was in our top 5 most crucial. we have had people more crucial than him
You are right, and I said one of the most crucial, not most crucial.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
maybe. plus he can still be if he moves to another team in seria a
Why do that? Why not stay here.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
how many championships will that get us. not that i am contradicting you, i am just saying that you are overrating that a bit.
That past one for an example. He didn't start a fight with Capello or the management because he has been subsituted. And when he was asked to play her played really well by scoring and assisting.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
i personally feel that those money could be used better.
Thats your opinion.. but finacially he is bringing Juve more money than he is getting from Juve.

++ [ originally posted by Don Bes ] ++
injury prone, one more reason to drop him. we have a younger striker who has as many, if not more assits. he gets the heat only because people rightfully expect a lot from him.
If you are talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic.. He is the future. He is a player Juve should not leave easily. I am a big fan of him. And I think our attacking forward is unstoppable when both Zlatan and Del Piero are onfrom, because both can assist and score.
Del Piero is a Juve Champion, a Juve idol. You just don't sell your idols.

old.
Not so old, he just broke his 30s.

Yes. I was talking about trophies collected as a player. But as said before he was a crucial part in all of them, inclucing Scudetto 28.

this is by far, the biggest bullshit i have ever heard on the argument. del piero maybe be many things but never that.
Hmm, if you think so then there is no point in continuing the discussion;
I'll just note something, during the last 1/3 of the season with many problems the team is going through, e.g. Nedved's injury, Zlatan's ban ..etc Del Piero did perform. He gave all his best during Milan's game which was very crucial for teh scudetto and was awarded man of the match. He played great games against many teams. against Roma both legs, against lazio first leg, against Fiorentina, against Siena, against Lecce ..etc I do agree when he came from the injury he was under par, but then he got his act together and finished last 1/3 of the season on the high. He did perform well, and he silenced all his critics. Thats just a fact.

so? thats the minimum a player can do.
Tell that to many team captain starting with totti.

I am not saying that Del Piero should get a starting 11 if he is not ready. He should play when he is ready. What i am saying that it would be unfair for Del piero and juve if we sold him. He represnts and era for Juve that is still going. its like saying we should have sold Ferrara, or we should have sold Conte ..etc.

You are right!! and most of them I am sure finished their careers with juve.

and most of them werent a liability on the team

Del Piero gave the team more than the players you have mentioned..
and he recieved more

yes you are right, but he was a major factor in all of them.. Including this year's scudetto.
a major factor was emerson. del piero was a factor.

I agree not as many as before, but looking at statistics we reached the final more between 1993-1998 than 1999-2005 which means more games --> more goals.
and you wonder why we didnt reach the finals ? where was del piero against deportivo ? oh yeah injured. thats just one example of the top of my head.

We are looking at a package here not just a single feature..
and thats what i meant.

No, neither does any other player who scores a goal in this whole world.. it takes a team to win and it takes a team to lose. My argument was that he still scores a good number despite not playing as much games as, lets say Ibrahimovic.
tell me who was expecting Ibrahimovic to score more goals in seria a in his first season than in holland? Ibrahimovic except the game agianst liverpool was always useful to the team.

You are right, and I said one of the most crucial, not most crucial.
thats the problem though, it looks (at least) that with one of our "crucial" players we have adequate substitution. tell me who can sub canna, thuram, emerson, camoranesi and zambrotta at juve ?

Why do that? Why not stay here.
he doesnt offer enough

That past one for an example. He didn't start a fight with Capello or the management because he has been subsituted. And when he was asked to play her played really well by scoring and assisting.
you seem to forget all the times where he simply was out of it and if it wasnt for capello we would have always played him and never discovered the true abilities of zalayeta.

Thats your opinion.. but finacially he is bringing Juve more money than he is getting from Juve.
this one is a tough one to prove without any official numbers, it simple makes more sense to believe that after 12 years there are less del piero jerseys being sold at least thats what i would think

If you are talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic.. He is the future. He is a player Juve should not leave easily. I am a big fan of him. And I think our attacking forward is unstoppable when both Zlatan and Del Piero are onfrom, because both can assist and score.
zlatan can do del piero's job and more. why not add more creativity to our team with mutu or more goal scoring ablility with trezeguet

Not so old, he just broke his 30s.
after 29 a player is past his prime. del piero was past his prime after the injury. when was that ? 5 years ago?

Yes. I was talking about trophies collected as a player. But as said before he was a crucial part in all of them, inclucing Scudetto 28.
he collected those trophies with the team. where is the ballon d'or?

conte was one of our best players last season

Imagine a world where in the Juventus team tehre is no DP anymore. No one would be fighting each other whether he is past it or he's still an incredible footballer and we would actually discuss the team rather than just one individual. But that would be a utopia I guess :D
that6 would be a dream come true :touched:

You DP fans if you really love him that much you would want him to LEAVE cos you know very well that next year he will not be in the first eleven with a fit Trezegut and Ibrahimovic ahead of him. Is that what you want? Well then fine, but for me that's a waste of money.

We can't just keep players cos they were there for the past 12 years and won (along with the rest of the team) those Scudetti and trophies. Like Zlatan (the forum member) once said: "We're not the ****en red cross!"

Till the injury in 1998 Del Piero had scored 50 goals in the serie A. between 1999-2005 he added 70+ goals in the serie A. So he hasn't post his prime in 1998, it was just a big blow in his career.
Its like everyone was fighting him every since he replaced Baggio. When he scored his first goal they called in a lucky shot. When he scored the hat-trick they called it begginers luck. When he got injured they said no back to Del Piero. When he couldn't score goals after his injruy (first season with Ancelloti) on scored from PKs they called him an aweful waste. He shut them up and started to score again. And he is till now scoring. The only thing I do miss is his free kicks. a complete season without a goal from a free kick :( hopefully next year :) he's make up for that.

And about the decrease in number of finals since then, well we had 2.5 years with Ancelotti :D .. Then we managed to reach the final with Lippi. Last year all the team were under par. And I do mean ALL the team, maybe Zambrotta was the only one performing.
The this year we lost to Liverpool in the 1/4 final. So its not Del Piero.. You just cannot blame Del Piero for not reaching the final of the CL, now can you?

No-one expected Ibrahimovic to score 16 goals in his first season. He is a fantastic player. But he has alot to learn. He keeps the ball with him alot when it is much better to pass. But as I said he has is still young and he has alot to learn. he is barely 24 years old. I feel that with Juve mentality he will be a great deal in the next couple of years. Hey.. he is already a big deal :cool: I am a big fan of him :cool: BUT he cannot replace Del Piero. I think that our best attack partners currently are Del Piero and Ibrahimovic. If Ibrahimovic can calibrate his foot more on scoring they will be unstoppable.

in the last 1/4 of the season the partner work has been doing wonders. And they still can develope more.

So no, I wouldn't sell any of my best forwards.
