Yes, and assists obviously count for nothing in your world.

There is a reason why people are saying that Zlatan is the only foreign player to adapt to Serie A in his first year since Sheva.
Zlatan had a wonderful season as a foreign player who had his first season in Italy.but was he that better than Alex who played nearly in each match when Del Piero named as the most substituded player in serie A?

I didn't understand.you mean people bash Alex because of ones like Seven who support him in this way?so their opinion depend on what Seven(and the ppl like him)says?if Seven(and ppl like him)didn't support Alex in this way,Del Piero bashers wouldn't criticize him?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with liking Del Piero, however there is something wrong with stating nonsense such as "Del Piero won us the Scudetto" while stating "Capello is an idiot." That is just not right.

But yes the reason why Del Piero gets bashed is partly because of posters such as Seven who make claims like the ones I listed above. People will prove Seven wrong and with that comes bashing Del Piero. You cannot prove someone wrong unless you point out the weaknesses in their arguments, and that means bashing Del Piero. It's unfortunate really.

Maybe Juve should've continued their press silence for life. :lazy: Bloody media. I dont believe a word they say.

I dont know if Alex is leaving or not but if he does who will take him with his high wages anyway? I hope he doesnt though, I love Del Piero. But with or without Del Piero Juve remains Juve and thats where my loyalty lies

He doesn't get 7 mio at year, but 4,2 ;)
He gets 4.2 from Juventus, and the rest from endoresements. Del Piero is about th 5th most marketable football player.

Once again, Andy: do you actually read my posts? I never stated Capello is a moron, he's just not a good coach for Juventus. Winning the scudetto is NOT that particular. Capello came here with the main objective of winning the CL. Capello failed.

And you, my dear friend, never ever bring up arguments. You dismiss an opinion without ever saying why.

Yeah, I mean, how hard can it be to win the scudetto? I'm sure you'd do it no problem. It's really a piece of cake, I dont know what all the fuss is about.

In my opinion when you say something like "Del Piero won us the scudetto" you lost all your credibility and objectivity...

Juventus won the scudetto, not just Del Piero, not just Capello, not just Zlatan, JUVENTUS has a team won it and it was a team effort.

And Seven, winning the Scudetto its THAT particular, please tell me wich league in the world was more competitive this year, no even the Spanish league was that tough this year. So please don't understimate thsi achievement of THE TEAM.

Now, on the "problem" between Del Piero and Capello, again in my opinion this is just a problem that has been made by the press to sell news, and its a simple missundertanding.

BUT, IF Del Piero did say what has been write, then, even if Del Piero is my fav player, I must say that Capello is rigth by saying that Juventus can't garantee nothing to his players, it doesn't matter if you are Del Piero, if you are playing bad then you can't play has a starter... on the other hand I think Capello has to change the fact that when a player is playing good, that player should start the game and if during that game, he keeps playing good, that player should play the hole match.

And last but not least, on one personal note, I must say that Im sick and tired of this childist Del Piero problem, I understand that this is a opinion forum, but when you state opinions obyously biased against a player or for a player the that opinion becomes a "stupid commentary".

Even if Del Piero its my fav player, and I would love to see him ending his carrer in Juve, I must say that I agree with Andy when his say that post like "Del Piero won us the scudetto" makes people bash Del Piero.

I think the misunderstanding lies in what he referred to when Del Piero said I wont say thanks. Alex was referring to the time Cap told the media that by benching Del Piero, he would get thanked later on. And I agree with Alex when he says he has no reason to thank Capello, it's not like he believed in him when he was going through a bad stretch. He actually was pretty unfair to him, on everyone's account that is. So I see absolutely no reason for Alex to thank Capello on substituting him and benching him all the time. I think thats why it was hard for people to stomach DP not thanking Cap for Lo Scudetto. And they were right because that;s not what he meant. On the Capello subject, I credit him for the moves we made before the season started, no way we get it done without Emo and Canna. But the season was won with the heart that our players have shown simple as that.

Same old story! The only objective people on here are Andy, Zlatan, Juve Kosovo and Espectro.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to come chat over here but I received an email from Ivy Scorpio telling me to stop BS about DP and inventing stories bla bla bla.

To clear things out, DP really said those comments during one of the daily press conferences (so it wasn't just words splashed on a newspaper but it was also shown on tv). And Capello replied to him cos there really is a case. Probably they will make 'peace' and drag on for another year. I hope that this will be a good excuse to sell DP to Arsenal or whoever comes forward ;) His money could be well spent on younger and more productive players.

It's funny how some of the people who defend DP are the same who attack Trezeguet for scoring easy goals from inside the small box when this year DP had most of his goals scored in that way. Capello has the balls to sub DP, something which Lippi did not have. Now Lippi took a leaf from Capello's book and is not calling him for the NT cos he realized that there are far better players than him in Italy.

Zizou, You sub Dp when he deserve it, Capello did Subs Dp sometimes when the Captain was doing really good and sometimes when he didn't Even complete his 63min, I mean C'mon, Why isn't Zlatan Subs when he's not doing that good? Why isn't Nedved Sub when he's doing bad? Why It's always Dp he has to bench???? Capello should learn how to bench, Benching Dp doesn't make him the Strongest Coach Ever, IF he wants to show the Media that he has the balls to Bench Dp, It's not the way he should do it.

1- Lippi always considered Del Piero as being indipensable. The facts proved him damn right. Your talk about having "the balls to sub dp" is pure rubbish.
2- Lippi didn't call Alex either because he went through rough patches or because he just didn't get enough playing time from Cap. We'll see how the story ends.

No, that's not rubbish, it's reality. Capello treats all his players the same way and if one isn't performing, even if it is Del Piero, Fabio will take him off. And Zlatan is always going to be played by Capello because he is a strong, physical forward who can hold the ball up like no other. Capello's tactics call for a player with those qualities throughout the entire match. Seriously this is not rocket science and we have been over this so many times but nobody can get their brains to make sense of the subject.

Del Piero played a lot this season, what are you talking about? Please do we have to blame Capello for everything?

PS- Glenn, nice to see you back mate, even for a short while.

What's up with this guy???
He's right. Capello himself said it, "My hardest Scudetto was Roma's because it is a club that is not used to winning trophies".
Juventus has an incomparable success tradition in Serie A. It just offers the best environment to win scudetti. Capello did male miracles at Rome, he was great, but winning a scudetto at Juve, or even at Milan or Real is far from being special or miraculous. Thus, pretty much credit ld be given to "la società" Juventus, to our staff, our PLAYERS (whose performances justify their status), our managers (Giraudo, Bettega, Moggi, and Umberto & Gianni Agnelli RIP).
It just could be summed up as follows:
Juventus FC is used to winning Scudetti. Not that it's not a unique joy & happiness every time we win, but it's just what it is...As for CL's it is quite another kettle of fish...Helping Juve overcome their curse in CL finals, especially after we were beaten in 3 CL finals and a semi-final in our last eight CL campaigns would be special. Let's see whether Capello with the players he chose is up to the job.
