DEL PIERO:
He was a great player, now he is just good. People have to accept that he is not the one he used to be. Stop living in the past and start living the present.

Ive seen all CHL matches of Juventus and most of Serie A matches. DP has not been good this season. He has underachieved alot this season. Just accept it, but at the same time he hasnt quite deserved to be subbed that often either.

However, last time I checked Capello was the Coach. I doubt he would subb DP for the fun of it or to proove a point???? Football is a game for men, and the troubles that comes with the game, a man must deal with.

I dont support Capello nor DP. I support Juventus FC. Have you heard about Buffon, Cannavaro, Nedved and the rest? I suggest you should support Juve too!

Indeed, Del Piero is still only a player, a club icon or not. He's loved by many and that causes a counter-reaction because sometimes these so called fan boys are too over-the-top. Still, I hope we all have Juve first in our priorities and that the whole summer won't be spent talking about DP rather than the whole squad.

No, that's not rubbish, it's reality. Capello treats all his players the same way and if one isn't performing, even if it is Del Piero, Fabio will take him off. And Zlatan is always going to be played by Capello because he is a strong, physical forward who can hold the ball up like no other. Capello's tactics call for a player with those qualities throughout the entire match. Seriously this is not rocket science and we have been over this so many times but nobody can get their brains to make sense of the subject.
.
No Andrew, Capello doesn't treat all his players the same, Zlatan will always play because he's strong physical??? So even if he's playing Like shit, we keep him on the field, because he's tall and physically strong? BS.

He's right. Capello himself said it, "My hardest Scudetto was Roma's because it is a club that is not used to winning trophies".
Juventus has an incomparable success tradition in Serie A. It just offers the best environment to win scudetti. Capello did male miracles at Rome, he was great, but winning a scudetto at Juve, or even at Milan or Real is far from being special or miraculous. Thus, pretty much credit ld be given to "la società" Juventus, to our staff, our PLAYERS (whose performances justify their status), our managers (Giraudo, Bettega, Moggi, and Umberto & Gianni Agnelli RIP).
It just could be summed up as follows:
Juventus FC is used to winning Scudetti. Not that it's not a unique joy & happiness every time we win, but it's just what it is...As for CL's it is quite another kettle of fish...Helping Juve overcome their curse in CL finals, especially after we were beaten in 3 CL finals and a semi-final in our last eight CL campaigns would be special. Let's see whether Capello with the players he chose is up to the job.
Amen.

I have to disagree with you there Kosova, if Del Piero accepts that he may not play in all matches next season, he can still be a very important part of the club.

His form in the last part of the season has been great, and I must also disagree with the people who say that he had a bad season, I mean look at his numbers!! even if he was the most substituted player in Serie A, he still manage to convert 14 goals, I mean that has to mean something...

Someone in the Del Piero thread said something that to me is the absolute reallity when we talk about Del Piero, and its that every fan judges Del Piero's form comparing it with his 97 form, we most accept that that player will not come back, but even if that player its gone, Del Piero is still a great player, a great captain and a great person, he still can contribute alot to the team, in and out the field.

I said early that a person who says that Del Piero won us the scudetto its biased, I also think that if you say that Del Piero had an awful season you are also biased, he had a good season, and without his 14 goals probably Juve wouldn't have achieved his scudetto (this doesnt mean that he won us the scudetto, so don't turn this arround)

Now, with all this said, I want to propose that all Juventus fans stop this Del Piero argument and celebrate that Juve won his 28 th scudetto!!!

FORZA DEL PIERO!!
FORZA CAPELLO!!
FORZA JUVE!!!

As I said this in another thread. I stopped beleiving anything the media says whether its good or bad about Juve after this season.
What Del Piero said is that it wasn't only Capello's work that got Juve the scudetto it took every single member of this club to acheive such an award...

We dint offload Divaio and Miccoli because of Ibra, we offloaded them in favour of Del Piero.
That,s not true..I mean Miccoli left us in the moment of ibrahim's departure.
Lippi liked Miccoli very much,so hi insists that Miccoli plays in the first game of the last season against Empoli.Btw,Miccoli played the whole last season, and Di Vaio did it even a season before, while Zalayeta was at loans. This season ibrahim came, and Zalayeta came back from loan so,there was no space for Di Vaio and Miccoli.
And I didn't want to speculate why they left,I wanted to show you that we are getting rid of Italian players, and that's not good at all.

Ok, guys, Capello was interview after Juve's game and he has said that everyting between him and Del Piero has been fix, and that theres no problem between him and Del Piero...

So I think this thread should be close, and for those of you who still want to "discuss" you can go a keep with your "opinions" to the Del Piero thread.

Well Said G,

Anyhow, I don't trust Capello and as Seven said the guy can be a moron to any player he wants, just like he was with Totti and Montella...

Another Point, You are all talking about Micco's and Di vaio's Departure was because of the Captain, why don't you take a look at Tudor's and Maresca when CAPELLO is the one who gave moggi the green light to get rid of them....

Didn't Capello Promised Micco that he'll get his chance playing with the team and then after couple of hours he kicked his ass to Florence and called Zlatan to come over...

So i suggest you all stop moaning about Dp, he has nothing to do with this, Dp is our Captain, Juve's Captain, Like it Or not, thats your problem, He's Juve's Legend, Our most Lovely Boy ever....

So get your sh!ts away from him.....

In more news about Capello's interview, he said that him and someone else (Moggi Im guesing) talk with Del Piero, and Alex told them that he didn't mean his declarations, at least not like the journalist put them.

So everyting its ok, and now... LETS PARTY!!!

Eeeeer... exactly. Zlatan is currently better than Del Piero, and by a country mile at that.

Del Piero isn't the player he once was and surely won't regain the form that made him one of the world's best in 1998, but he still makes crucial contributions even if many would like to ignore that fact. He has had his ups and downs this season but without him we wouldn't have won our 28th Scudetto. Does that mean we shouldn't sell him though? I think not. I love the man to death and have infinite respect and admiration for him, but an offer of anything in excess of 15m would be too good to turn down IMO. Ibrahimovic is developing into one of Europe's best strikers and there's no doubt that the likes of Fernando Torres, Antonio Cassano and Carlos Tevez have the talent to be just as good if not better than DP. If however, Alex does stay, I'd be glad to spend the 30m Cassano would cost on players who would make more sense economically and ensure that we're covered in all areas.

To sum up all of that I would rather keep Del Piero and get two or three quality players than sell him and buy Cassano for a huge transfer fee when there are other positions that should be accounted for first. If the sale of Del Piero could bring in 15-20m then I would go for Cassano who at this stage is superior to Ale (performance wise anyways).

Actually, Zlatan scored 16 goals, and set up 2 or 3 times more goals than Del Piero.
Funny...and actually, Del Piero scored 17... with a thousand or so minutes less on the field.
