Here,we have 2 strems:

1-Del Piero's

2-ibahimovic one's

I really cannot understand...some so called Swedish guy came and everybody forgot,at once, What Del Piero did to us and how much happiness he brought to us.
Last year we oust Di Vaio, Miccoli, Maresca (all Italian guys,and fantastic players).Di Vaio and Miccoli because of that so called Swidish guy.
I hope that we won't make the same mistake again, with Del Piero.

If anyhow Juve let that happen , it should change it's name into juvehimovic
or ibrahimus.


It's so sad we're arguing here,and tell eachother who should go or who shouldn't instead to celebrate the title. That arguing makes us ,I think the most disunited fans in Italy.

Lippi's calls for Azzuri matches came at discrete points in time when DP happened to be subbed or benched...It cost him, at least for a while, his place in the NT. As for Capello's so called egalitarianism, just ask Montella about it. Capello took off Del Piero in both legs against Parma, against Livorno..etc, when he was playing BETTER than the others and got good ratings. Every Sport newspaper in italy underlined this fact and almost all analysts whatever team they support acknowledge that Cap's management or treatment of Del Piero was way too harsh. If you want proof, I'll give it to you. So please stop talking about Capello as being FAIR. He has the right to do whatever he wants, he is the coach and he chooses his players, but don't have the blindness to say he's been fair to Alex.

I love DP with all my life. But it will be interesting to see how many will remain as Juve fans if DP does leave Juve.

But you're intentionally missing the point. Zlatan is the type of player Capello needs throughout the entire match, basically being a tactical requirement. Del Piero does not have these same qualities and if Capello needs a more physical forward to trouble the opposition's defense he will sub DP and play Zalayeta. Sure, it might seem strange but that's the story I see. Even if Zlatan might not be performing well he can still trouble the opposition defense with his muscle and how he holds up the ball. The contradiction is intentional actually.

I must admit, my first Juventus jersey had Del Piero on the back of it, and I absolutely loved Del Piero. A lot of kids in our generation (let's say 14 to 23) grew up watching Del Piero in a Juventus shirt, but as soon as he leaves, most of the fans (usually people who like Del Piero because he is Del Piero) will loose interest in soccer entirely. The same thing happened with Beckham's departure from Manchester United.

People aren't watching soccer for the love of the game anymore. Now it's all about how marketable and fashionable a particular player is. When Del Piero goes, a large chunk of the fan base will leave as well, but I'll continue supporting Juventus for Juventus, and not some slick-haired has-been.

Bring on the criticism.

I guess that just proves what we've been saying all along...there are many fans who are actually DP fans not Juve fans.

DP has been playing bad and just cos he played well in the last two games of the season, that should not cancel all the other 34 games! That's too biased an analyses!

I don't see anyone defending Montero when he didn't play well yet he has served for as nearly as much as DP and had more good seasons than DP had!

Imo it's good that DP played well in the last two games of the season, that might actually inrease a bit his value and justify the wages for any club that will want to purchase him

I cannot think of a single juventini who wasn't ecstatic to see DP return to form at the end of this season. But getting there was a long and difficult road. Even Lippi -- the so-called man of Juve class that Capello can only hope to ever emulate -- outright stated how DP's form just wasn't there to field him on the Italian NT for much of the year.

I love DP and he's a critical man for our team. He is our captain. But sometimes we need to recognize that the team's success is far bigger than his own individual contributions. It's not going to be 1997 for DP forever, unfortunate as that is. And, as Andy pointed out, there are roles DP is better, and less, suited for that sometimes in this past season may not have meshed with the team we needed to field in order to have our best chances of success.

I thought Di Vaio and Miccoli leaving was mostly due to the fact that they didn't get much playing time, even when they played well.........because Lippi always chose Del Piero. No matter what.

It's the management that got rid of those two, but if you want to blame a player for their departure...blame Del Piero.

FACT #1: Del Piero was subbed when he was playing badly, subbed when he was playing great, subbed when he was the best forward on the pitch. Some say it happened because Zlatan was more useful for tactical reasons - how come a player who playes an average game can be more useful than a great player? I didn't see much of that tactical awesomeness when there was only Zlatan but that's just my opinion.

Some say it was fair to sub DP all the time, some say it was unfair. The facts are there, make up your mind. Maybe it was fair but not objective (people's favourite word around here). Capello prefers some people over someone else so that's probably fair but definately not egalitarian.

FACT #2: Be quiet and read the 90 pages from the official Del Piero thread. This has all been there like 20 times already.

i love del piero he is my all time favourite plyer and person.. but the whole ultimatum deal was just wrong wht if all the other players gave ultimatums... and he should ve thanked cappello del piero played well this season and got a good amount of goals and i think that is because of cappello subbing him and making him feel that he has serious competition.... i can only see del piero next season as a one half player with no1 sold yet ibra trez zalayeta and mutu.. dont kno how he thinks he ll play ll the time

damn i d hate for him to leave juve but it doesnt look so good nd i think if moggi doesnt hold on to him and backs cappello instead .. del piero will be gone... juve wont be the same for some people as no1 in juve currently can take the star club idol etc etc del piero role... but i say juventus is juventus with or without del piero.. i pray for him to stay though

That's already a huge contradiction to start with. You just proved he doesn't treat all players the same. And yes, in Capello's tactics we need someone like Zlatan, but I really do question those tactics. First of all we're a lousy team to watch, second of all we mostly skip midfield (except in the Milan game, when we as a whole played a very nice game, we actually played some good football) where our strengths lie in the likes of Camoranesi and Nedved and third of all we're not a fluent and very static team. With these, rather defensive, tactics you might win a domestic championship, but you're never ever going to have a shot at the CL.
