Delle Alpi to be restructured (6 Viewers)

Which option for the delle Alpi: Restore or Rebuild?

  • Restore = Pisanu/UEFA compliance, 50k seats, same structure, same stands-to-pitch gap

  • Rebuild = 40k seats for brand-spanking new park socking us into debt. (Costs 10x+ more than Restore)

"Today Juve's new house is born" is the title I think.

Which is y getting Euro 2012 would be nice, because than the government would chip in alot of money into stadium development across Italy.

Juve are better of staying as it is (whether that means playing in the Delle Alpi or Olimpico), than biting off more than they can chew and going into debt. As u said, Aresenal are in debt, and if they slip up in Europe, it will cost them big time.
That's unlikely now after the riots

I would say so yeah. Besides the fact that it is politically correct to favour new-EU and former communist states with these things nowadays, the only serious contender from the West has now cut its own wrists.

Was the other tandem Poland-Ukraine? That one stands slimmer chances than you guys imo

Yep, Ukraine/Polland are the third choice but personally I wouldn't know if they have slimmer chances than us, I'm unfamiliar with the conditions there.
Though Italy was a clear favourite they have really made a mess for themselves now.

I don't know what are our realistic chances but I wouldn't say they are too big and no one here is holding his breath either. We have 2 obstacles; stadiums and fans. I am not concerned about our fans as they can be controlled, all they need to do is put special forces there, not those security stewards or whatever than run home at the first sight of a fist. Our biggest derby, Dinamo vs. Hajduk, has not produced riots for a looong time because of that.

I'm most worried about stadiums because ours are shit, that includes our 2 best stadiums. Dinamo's Maksimir is unfinished for over a decade and Hajduk's Poljud is barely holding himself together. Both need some serious renovating and we need at least one new stadium and there in lies the problem. Where are we gonna build a new, modern, 50,000 capacity stadium and most importantly what the hell are we gonna do with it after the Euro? Our National leauge is poor and attendances are drastically low, none of our clubs would deserve a new stadium or would have any use for it. It would be best be to tear down the damn thing when the Euro is over.

I don't know the conditions of Hungary either but our bid is the weakest of all I'd say, when this with Italy cools down I think they're gonna be favourites again. Though if we somehow managed to get the Euro, it would certainly be one to remember.

Poland and the Ukraine suffer the same problems as you do: although they could probably find a way to use their stadiumds after the tournament. But in many ways they are poorer and particularly the Ukraine suffers some serious PR issues. There's nothing left of the orange revolution, there's little freedom, it's a poor country, it's dirty (and no I'm not just referring to Chernobyl)... Honestly I think your bid stands a bigger chance.

You could be right but we have too many obstacles like I said. But still, fingers crossed. :)

The Euro 2012 will be hosted by Italy, Croatia and Hungary or Ukraine and Polland. One of those 3.

FORZA ITALIA! I think ukraine and poland are too far away from each other to work well. While i dont want to see football in a country that created people like you and Mark :D:p
