9 goals in serie B for a 21 yo guy isn't bad though.
Trezeguet at 21 wasn't much better tbh. He was only a world champion with France and at 22 he was only a EURO champ and he only scored the winner of the final.
But Trezeguet at 21 was scoring goals in France, a better league than Serie B. I remember people last year being astounded by Palladingo's play at age 22, which wasn't bad, but now in Serie A he hasn't exactly lived up to his hype.

As always, it's hard to judge Serie B talents. But 9 goals out of, what, 30 starts? Not the most impressive thing I've ever seen, but I'll give the kid time for sure.

Lanzafame to become Trez's successor :juventus:
Hopefully he'll show himself to be that great.

Hammers close on Juve starlet

Lanzafame set for Upton Park loan
West Ham United are set to clinch a loan deal for Italian starlet Davide Lanzafame.

The 21-year-old striker is a product of Juventus' youth system and made his first-team debut for them last season.

But this term he was loaned out to Bari in Serie B where Juve legend Anontio Conte is coach.

And Lanzafame did not disappoint with ten goals which earned him a call-up to the Italian Under 21 squad.

Ronaldo comparison

Indeed Conte feels the player has all the ability in the world - even likening him to Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Lanzafame has improved tactically," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He is explosive, he sniffs the goal, and imposes his speed outside the area. If he improves and learns he can become like Cristiano Ronaldo."

West Ham are now set to agree terms with Juve for a season-long loan.

The deal is a clear indication of the influence of The Hammers' new sporting director Gianluca Nani.

The Italian was brought in to oversee transfer policy and he has wasted little time in sealing a deal for one of his country's brightest young prospects.

Hmmm......Wasn't he supposed to join Palermo in Amauri deal? Maybe the deal collapsed if Lanza is set to join West Ham? Is there any truth in this rumour? Please discuss.

100% random bull.

West Ham are the kind of team that bid 18m pounds for Bent and gets it turned down. They wouldnt be fishing for a youth player from overseas, but some hack to overpay for yet again, like with Bellamy etc.

reports in Italy say it's a loan with a fee involved that's a bit high for just a simple loan so the media might be drinking when they wrote this or we're just making a masked co-ownership deal.

co-ownership deals outside the county is not allowed.

West Ham got an italian sporting director few months ago, so this rumour may be loosely based on that link alone. An italian going after italians.

He's certainly closer to being the next Camo than Trez. all the games I've seen from him, he's played as a backtracking winger. so 9 goals isn't all that bad

9 goals is great for him in a club that is nr 8 or something in serie b!

lanzafame made a penalty on the last game against lecce....
he's technique is quite awesome... cutting in from the left side of defence which made the defender fouled him and granted a penalty from the ref....

I think sending him to Siena or Empoli for a season of A experience and then we should see. After this a year or 2 under Camos watchful tutelage and then he's ready or not.

LANZAFAME HITCH FOR HAMMERS

West Ham's bid for Juventus starlet Davide Lanzafame could be set for failure because of Amauri's impeding move to Turin.

Juve are set to sign Brazilian-born striker Amauri, but as part of the deal Palermo want 50 per cent ownership of Lanzafame.

Palermo are hoping to land half of Lanzafame, as well as getting Antonio Nocerino and nearly £10million for Amauri.

Previously Palermo wanted Raffaele Palladino, Sebastian Giovinco or Vincenzo Iaquinta - but they were all vetoed - but Lanzafame admits he will go where Juve tell him.

The Italy-Under 21 international was on his way to Upton Park on loan for the whole of next season, which Juve were more than happy with.

But now Palermo's request could very well deny the Hammers what would have been a major coup, for one of Europe's most highly-rated young strikers.

"I'm a Juve player and my future depends on the Bianconeri," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"Palermo? They are a prestigious club and for me it will be a fascinating and new experience.

"Bari for me has been a really beautiful adventure. I'm sorry it ended because I felt really good. I hope one day to be able to wear again this jersey
."
