I was wondering would there be individuals to criticise Trez after last night's defeat. Yes, with Amauri things would have ended differently, we probably wouldn't have conceded those goals. :shifty:
Exactly who is criticizing him? Show me at least one post? Amauri scored 2 goals and gave brilliant assist in 60 minutes in 4231 against Sampdoria, Trezeguet scored a goal in the same formation in 90 minutes against Napoli. Sure, Amauri got better service, but he also linked with the crosses better, as well as got more involved in the play. No one is criticizing David, there are just some, who are saying, that the 4231 looked better with Amauri and that opinion may not be entirely untrue, like it or not.

Great goal, but the 4-2-3-1 just doesn't work the same without Amauri.
i still prefer amauri as the lone striker.
:blah:

You may prefer him as the lone striker, I don't. He is more useful overall but with Camo, Diego, Giovinco behind, I'd take a poacher ahead of him any time. If Trez played the full match against Sampdoria I'm certain he'd score just as much, perhaps more than Amauri. The team was simply clicking that night and were unstoppable. Against Napoli we lacked Sissoko and we lacked Camoranesi for practically the whole match, which makes a world of difference to our team play.

I appreiate Amauri, I do and I don't bash him at all, but when it comes to Trez vs Amauri, I feel the former is much underrated and the latter overrated.

My only problem with Trezeguet is that by now he should learn how to hold up and control the ball, these simple things he should know by now after playing for so many years with the likes of Zidane, Del Piero, Nedved and many others.

The system has changed and football is changing, goals alone are not enough, each single player has more than a role in nowadays football.

You are sure Trez would have scored that great header from Camoranesi's cross? Maybe he would have, but i fear there is no chance David is capable of assisting Chiellini like Amauri did. Once again, that's hardly criticizing, that's comparing, what you showed me there.

Trezeguet has never, nor will he ever hold up the ball. It doesn't matter who he played with or will play with, it will never happen. Trezeguet when recieves the ball, passes it to the nearest teammate. That's it. It's like asking Buffon to practice through balls, it's pointless. He's the dying breed of strikers.

Sadly.

Sadly indeed. Football has changed and still changing, and unfortunately it requires a lot from strikers - to hold up the ball open space for teammates and not to pass the ball as soon as he receives it if his mate isn't well placed and marked etc...

Personally, I think David is capable of holding the ball, controlling it when needed but he doesn't like it, I've seen few moves of him outside the box which I'm convinced that he's capable of doing more than just scoring inside the penalty area but he's not into it.

Anyway for the formation we are using or playing right now, Amauri fits more, but the moment Del Piero is back(which is very soon), I want the old partnership.

Looking at our squad at the start of the season I never thought he'd be that crucial. With time you only realize.
He used to be a talented player who could make things happen. Now, without a coach that would steer us properly he's suddenly become the decider in so many ways. He's become more like Zidane :)

To me, it's never the millions nor stars that can win you matches, more like leaders that have their own rights reserved style, this is my philosophy and how I see things in Football.

Btw, talking about partnership earlier, I can't get enough of this
