He is the best foreign goalscorer, and that's enough, I think. Nobody will argue about his comparability with Omar Sivori, for example, because nobody saw both regularly. The only way we can know the best GOALSCORER is by numbers.

Just one burning question :

Is Trezeguet The best Striker in the world ?
Is he in the top 5 ?

An honest answer would be appreciated .

best striker?depends on what you are lookin for, he is by no means teh best all-round forward,henry,drogba,etc are all better all-round players . but best finisher/poacher?hell yes! and the ability to sniff out a chance ina crowded penalty area is a fantasic talent

I think that requires more luck than talent . Maybe you mean he has good reflexes but to actually predict danger in a box ? Not a talent .

So he isn't the best all round striker , and therefore , wouldn't you say that Domenech went for players that are all round strikers , Benzema , Henry etc.. Rather than a one dimensional player like Trez .

I never said he is the best striker, because simply I don't like to be subjective in my judgement. I said that the whole thing needs statistical research to get the ONLY objective answer. Otherwise, we can post for centuries here without convincing each other because simply, the dialogue won't be based on facts but personal judgements.

Neither me nor you can judge who the better player is without scientific facts.

When one says that Trezeguet does not receive service it does not mean that he has to get tap ins, he just has to receive balls while he's positioned. He's a finisher. When you compare Trezeguet to other forwards you are making a big mistake. Trezeguet does not pull back to take the ball, he does not pressure the defenders to lose the ball because his skill lie elsewhere, he has positioning, he sees the goal better and he simply knows what to do with the ball when he receives it in his favourite zone.

Wow , I'm shocked . pig-ignorant ? You just called the ability to sniff out danger a skill . It's not . He is one-dimensional , and yes he can get lucky as any other striker could . Why can't you just accept it ? He's great but not the best , the initial argument was if he was the best striker/finisher in the world , not if he was the best danger sniffer .
