They are shooting blanks. Trez will stay ,after all his contract expires June 2008.
I'm not so sure. I would have liked Trez to stay, but he has motivational problems, and that stems from his attitude to playing for Juventus. Like Vonam said, If he wanted to prove he was good enough for his NT, he would be more motivated, not less. I think his lack of motivation stems from Trez wanting to leave last summer and not being allowed to. I think that being prevented from leaving has re-enforced his wish to leave.
Earlier in this forum, we were debating what Lyons offer should be. At the time, I thought I wouldn't let him go for 20 million euro & when someone mentioned they had come across an article stating Lyon were offering/going to offer 15 million. Too low I thought. However, given Trez's age, "motivation" or lack of it AND that his contract ends in 2008 anyway, perhaps we should sell. If the real offer is 17 million or more go for it, because, come 2008, he can go to any club for nothing! It would be in Juve's best interests to sell him to a foreign club now than let him walk into a rival club like inter or milan for nothing in a year's time. Like Jem said, he's lethal (when he's motivated).

Olympique Lyon Offer 17 Million For Trezeguet

Gerard Houllier’s Olympique Lyon have made the move that many expected and put down their first bid for Franco-Argentine striker David Trezeguet.

It’s no secret that Trezeguet has been pondering leaving Juventus at the end of the current season as he feels that his cycle at the Vecchia Signora is drawing to a close.

The President of the French club, Jean Michel Aulas, has offered the sum of 17 million Euros to bring the player back from Juventus to France for the first time since his Monaco days alongside Thierry Henry.

Trezeguet’s father – and agent – met with Aulas in Paris, taking advantage of the France-Argentina friendly to bag the player he’s been after since last summer.

Juve have yet to comment officially on the proposal, although Juve are ready to relinquish the number 17 given his solidarity stay in Serie B – something that reflected on the striker’s commitment to the club he plays for and was deeply appreciated in Turin.

He should be thanked and given the chance to leave as soon as possible...

He lost his motivation for the club, so I guess leaving the club will be better for the both parties. And 17 million is not a bad amount of money...

Trezeguet: “All behind Deschamps”

David Trezeguet has dismissed speculation that a dressing room split has taken place between some Juventus players and Didier Deschamps.

Trezeguet was rumoured to be one of the squad at odds with the Coach, rumours which inevitably questioned the long term future of the Frenchman on the Bianconeri bench.

But Trezeguet was today nominated by his teammates to act as a spokesman in response to the suggestions.

“None of us were happy about what appeared in certain newspapers this morning and that’s why I’m here to clear things up,” he told Juve Channel.

“One person wrote that all of us are angry, especially with the boss. In actual fact we’re all very much behind him, myself more than anyone seeing as I played alongside him in the national team.

“My place on the bench on Saturday? I was drained both physically and mentally when I got back on Friday, seeing as I’d just played Argentina – the team closest to my heart.

“I reiterate that the group is more united than ever and we’re all pulling in the same direction.

“We’re aware that we haven’t been on top of our game lately and that we’re not playing the type of football we’re capable of, but we are still top of the table.

“That’s why I want to say to all our amazing fans that there’s no need to worry, we need you to stand by us now more than ever.

“Since August, we’ve all known that our sole objective is to get back into Serie A and to do that we need your help.”

Trezeguet also blasted some sections of the media who attached 'playboy lifestyles’ tags to certain members of the outfit.

“They can criticise us for our performances on the pitch, but no one has the right to bring up our private lives,” he hit back.

“Everyone of us has a family, many have children and no one should be criticising us for our behaviour off the field.

"We see it as a huge lack of respect which will no longer be tolerated.”

Juventus are still top of the League despite winning just one of their last six away games. They drew 2-2 at Vicenza on Saturday after going two goals up.

Can we drop this? Some of us think he will leave, some of us think he will stay, but we don´t know nothing yet for sure and we are not in the position to negotiate his status...
