Another bad news for David today: Stupid Domenech didn't call him up for the national team for Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania:

Domenech opted for youth rather than experience, including Olympique Lyon's 19-year-old striker Karim Benzema and leaving out seasoned Juventus marksman David Trezeguet.

France and Scotland are level on nine points in Group B. Italy are next on seven points and Ukraine have six but with a game in hand.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Gregory Coupet (Olympique Lyon), Mickael Landreau (Paris St Germain)

Defenders: Lilian Thuram (Barcelona), William Gallas (Arsenal), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Eric Abidal (Olympique Lyon), Julien Escude (Seville), Philippe Mexes (AS Roma), Sebastien Squillaci (Olympique Lyon), Francois Clerc (Olympique Lyon)

Midfielders: Claude Makelele (Chelsea), Rio Mavuba (Girondins Bordeaux), Jeremy Toulalan (Olympique Lyon), Abou Diaby (Arsenal), Lassana Diarra (Chelsea), Samir Nasir (Olympique Marseille)

Strikers: Djibril Cisse (Olympique Marseille), Nicolas Anelka (Bolton), Karim Benzema (Olympique Lyon), Sidney Govou (Olympique Lyon), Florent Malouda (Olympique Lyon), Frederic Piquionne (Monaco), Sylvain Wiltord (Olympique Lyon).

And Boumsong too is not called up. This will be a rare match where no Juve player in the French national team...

"I had decided not to talk about the players absent from my list but I will make an exception for David. He is a part of the team and will stay that way," confirmed the national coach.

"He went through a slightly difficult phase, he had a few problems with Juventus. I want to give him the time it takes for Juventus to be promoted to the Serie A so he feels untroubled and once again operational."

Actually, basing on what football italia has reported, I think it's kind of a favor to Trez. It says that he doesn't want to bother Trez, so that he can focus on getting Juve back to Serie A. Which, whether it's true or not, is good because then we won't lose him to a possible injury.

Do you believe France coach? Just look how he treated Trezegol at the world cup and you will know its not like what have been said on Football Italia.

:agree: You're right Rami! Trez is serving a ban as a Juve player. Domenech is just rubbing it in. If I ever meet him, I'll Navarro him! :boxing: :boxing:

This France coach is a piece. This will just unsettle Trez even more..

Agree with Juve-Prince (like Houllier and Cantona/Ginola the year France failed to qualify) Domenech seems intent on pushing Trez under the bus in response to France's underperformance at the World Cup..

Trez elbow appeal rejected
Thursday 15 March, 2007

Italian giants Juventus have failed in their appeal to get David Trezeguet’s three-match suspension reduced.

The striker was handed the punishment on Sunday after he was found guilty of violent conduct during the 3-1 loss to Brescia.

The Frenchman was caught on camera elbowing defender Fabiano Santacroce during the clash played at the Stadio Martelli in Mantova.

Juventus considered the verdict as harsh and pleaded their case in front of the disciplinary commission today, but without success.

Trezeguet, who already missed the 1-0 Treviso win on Tuesday, will now sit out the matches against Triestina and Frosinone.

However, the former Monaco man will be available for the top of the table showdown with Napoli on March 25.

Genoa and Udinese also had their appeals rejected against the three-match bans for Cristian Stellini and Marco Motta respectively.

Lately, Channel 4 acts weirdly...

Frosinone's match is delayed to the first of May, so if Napoli's match won't be delayed too because of the national team's matches, then Trezeguet will be absent against Napoli and not against Frosinone...

Look, it's not final yet...

It's up to our management now...

They can delay the Napoli match by asking the Lega clacio to do so...

All of us know that if a club in Serie B has two or more of its players called up to national teams' matches, then that club can ask for delaying its domestic matches. Hence, and as we have already Kovac, Bojinov, Chiellini and Palladino called up for national teams in that period, then we have a good chance to see that match delayed. As a result, Trezeguet will be absent for the next match, which won't be more crucial than Napoli's of course. In the end, it's up to our management, and if they won't surprise us by making some weird decisions, then we have nothing to worry about...
