Trez's finishing will come back. And when it does, it's some of the best you'll see in Europe.

If we abandon players of obvious quality in periods of injury and poor form, Del Piero would have been gone a decade ago.

Yeah, but so far Trez doesnt have that scoring touch, and he does not contribute to the team in any other way. Yesterday Amauri was at least doing something, running at players, dribbling, tried a few crosses, but IMO there was nothing from Treze.

I really like the guy and he's always been one of my favourite Juve players, but I swear, I dont remember seeing a slower player ion a long while. And its not just running speed, everything he tried to do was in slow motion, and even the goal he scored was very lucky and TBH a very poor finish by him.

Playing with Trez really is like playing with 10 players.

Amauri's performance has been deceptive. He's been instrumental to ball movement and setting up goal opportunities... and denied by the GK on his chances.

Trez has always been more of a natural striker: weak with his feet, but deadly, accurate, and quick with the shots when he's on his game. There have been occasions in his career where he's contributed more off the ball or away from goal. But that's not where he makes his impact for this club.

Unfortunately, Trez is mostly a one-trick pony. When that trick isn't working, there's a lot to complain about. But when it works, that's one serious f*king pony -- there aren't any other players on this entire club I can think of that nailed game-changing (let alone season-changing) goals at critical moments the way Trez has.

Nobody is asking him to be Usain Bolt, however, he's slow in receiving the ball, turning with or without it, he isnt finding the space he used to. His whole play is in slow motion.
lack of confidence, match fitness, match practice...take your pick...it's just exacerbated when it is a notoriously slow-paced player...even Ale looks like a geriatric when he isn't playing well

I agree, but the question is, how long can he play badly and still play? Imo, currently (when Ale is out) Iaq and Amauri is the best pairing for us.

that's true, but because Iaq and Ama work together really well, just like Ale and Trez have their perfect understanding...as for playing badly, that is the kind of player David is, and always will be...he will be AWOL for 89.5 mins, then BOOM! it's all over

Yeah, but IMO that doesnt mean that we cant have the same effect with another player. YOu have to judge it. Is it better to have a player who cant create for himself that only needs one chance to score, or is it better to have a player that can create for himself and even tho he needs more chances he creates more chances . I hope you get what I mean ;)

That is and always will be the eternal debate...... then suddenly Trezeguet appears and score a winner in a difficult game, and we start the discussion all over again.

We have been in this never ending loop for 10 years now :D

creating chances for yourself doesn't mean shit if you can't hit the back of the net...you get 3 points for scoring, not for dribbling 3 defenders and curl the ball inches from the goalpost

amauri missing chances? which chance did he miss last night i can tell you for a fact he would have done better on that one on one Trez had. Anyhoos it s a matter of opinion i think he's past it you think he can still bounce back, i hope i am wrong.

Amauri's taken some good chances thus far this season, but all of them have been well within the space of the keeper. (Not like Trez's haven't ... and have had generally less power too.)

TBH, he did great to even get a foot on that ball, and thats exactly what made Trez a great player before, his agility, his ability to get a foot to the ball from almost any position, be it an overhead kick or a volley. In fact, IMO Trez has one of the better volleys in football, but, sadly, he hasnt shown that agility and ability lately, and if he doesnt get it back...

Trezeguet could reconsider

Juve striker could u-turn on retirement decision

David Trezeguet has revealed that he could reconsider his decision to quit Juventus at the end of the season after he made a scoring return to the first-team.

The Frenchman marked his first start of the season with a goal as the Old Lady beat Lazio 2-0 at Stadio Olimpico.

The 31-year-old admitted that his decision to leave the Turin club last month may have been a little rash and was influenced by his lack of football last term, thanks to a succession of injuries.

However, under new manager Ciro Ferrara it seems that Trezeguet has a future at the club after the former Juve defender handed the striker a start immediately after he had declared himself fit.

"The fact I scored gives me a lot of confidence," he told the club's official website.

"We will see further ahead, but when I netted I saw how happy everyone was for me and it was moving.
Great performance

"We had a great performance tonight and now it's up to our rivals to prove themselves. We signed some players who gave something more to the team."

Trezeguet also highlighted that he had his eye on the club's all-time scoring record currently held by Juventus legend Omar Sivori with 167 goals, just five ahead of the former Monaco ace.

"Sivori is one of my idols and I am slowly approaching his record, but the important thing is to get fit again and prepare for Tuesday's Champions League game," he stated.

Let's talk about that Amauri shot. That was some improvisation, I still don't get how he could get a shot so hard from that position. :dazed: I couldn't see clearly, but it was his heel, wasn't it?
