He started all of first fucking 5 Serie A matches this season, and then it stopped suddenly and he hasn't played a minute since that Fiorentina game. It's kind of weird, i have to admit.
I'd rather think Allegri is more concerned about Rugani's chemistry with Barzagli or Sturaro as RB, he probably knows is a big risk to play both of Sturaro and Rugani in defence at the same time...
Anyway, from my oppinion there is no real excuse for why Rugani didn't start any games since Fiorentina other than the fact that maybe Allegri is aware how weak our defending phase is atm and woudn't want to risk him becoming a scapegoat in case something goes wrong

People keep saying he might not be that good, but are the alternatives any better? I haven't seen anything to suggest that an ageing Barza and the injury magnet calamity are any better.

Barzagli did not play an entire match and Lichtsteiner had a good rest now. Lichtsteiner Barzagli Chiellini Asamoah against Udinese, you can bet your house on it.
