A decent film, nothing special, its either too good, neither too bad,
it could have been an average film but the actors starring help it rate above average,
surprisingly Tom Hanks managed somehow to become from a bright actor and a protagonist,
to a background actor/storyteller role for this film,
the book's scenario supposed to have him as the main caracter but his performance and role, on this, let a lot to be desired...
not that he was dissapointing overall but the other, less famous actors, did better...
I think its hard for someone unaware of the book's riddles to understand,enjoy and apreciate the riddles,misteries,revelations and dark atmosfere this film tried to present.
The film requires great mental effort and the full attention of the spectators,
thats why its called "boring"
