On that, we agree. I think if you look at the discussion at the beginning of training when he returned to the discussion right before Udinese, I think Ronaldo went from being okay staying to wanting to leave. I don't think is on Juventus pushing him away a week before the transfer window closes. That makes no sense.

So I cannot hold it against Juventus if a player decides he wants to leave a week left in the window. There is no way to plan for that because most clubs don't expect players, especially star players on wages almost no club can afford, to behave in such ways.

You start discussions about whether he will stay or leave early on and then hold him to it. If he surprised them in the last minute then tough luck for him.

I honestly feel like we got everything out of him we could have. It was a big boost to us when he came, but unfortunately we didn't capitalize the first season. After that the relationship kind of soured imo. But I still think this move paid off for us in the long run.

*SMS + 2-3 equivalent players that fit into CR7 total budget

Yes, a hundred times over

You are assuming those players using the Ronaldo money were not going to be Rincon, Rabiot, Kulu, Arthur and Ramsey type of flops....practically not factoring in that Ronaldo is guaranteed quality while SMS and his hypothetical friends were risky buys by folks who have only 1 proper transfer to their name since Ronaldo (Chiesa).

That alternative universe is SMS (who isnt that special anyway)surrounded by a group of Mckennies.
