We have known about Covid and the financial situation since last year. We should have planned ahead for the departure of our star player. This should not be so last minute.
Before covid we were trying to go the 'superstar' route by buying big such as De ligt etc. The covid situation really just pulled the rug from underneath our feet.

On that, we agree. I think if you look at the discussion at the beginning of training when he returned to the discussion right before Udinese, I think Ronaldo went from being okay staying to wanting to leave. I don't think is on Juventus pushing him away a week before the transfer window closes. That makes no sense.

So I cannot hold it against Juventus if a player decides he wants to leave a week left in the window. There is no way to plan for that because most clubs don't expect players, especially star players on wages almost no club can afford, to behave in such ways.

Such a shame we didnt utilize the momentum when we signed him. We had all the cards on our hands but management completely blew it. At this point it was right to part ways, as we need to now rebuild this broken mess.

Bye Ronaldo - thanks for your goals, thanks for your media attention and thanks for helping to build the Juventus following. Bottom line is you didn’t achieve what you wanted to or what you were brought here for.

Thankful we didn’t have to pay the last year of this salary and at least got enough back not to make a capital loss
