lol at dude saying that ronaldo needs to giveaway jerseys for fans to follow youtube channel.

just lol. why give away something people are buying anyway.

there is no need to market him like that. this isnt lukaku or hazard or neymar. this is ronaldo. the man has surpassed beckham in popularity like 12 years ago lol.
If that jersey is the one with his signature and the one that he use when we win UCL final. that a whole differrent story for fans

With his 234.2 follower in Instagram vs our 2.8m subscriber in youtube
Lets say if 10% of his instagram follower do subscribe Juventus youtube channel that will be 23.4million new subscriber
and the total numbers are 26.2 million subs >> that means around 1000% increase

In terms of accomplishments and performance level throughout their careers? Yes But when you look at the two at their absolute peaks, I think there can be an argument made in favor of R9.
R9 could’ve been the best striker ever, but honestly I feel he was to much injured and gets to much credits. Yes he impressed a lot when fit, and had a insane dribble and ball control, but when talking about him we’re talking about ~5 years at top level compared to 15 of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The best players are the best because they stay at world level for their entire career, you need some luck with injuries but it’s also a big mental game. You’re up to it or not.
I’m going to move this discussion out of the Dybala thread and into here.

I agree that R9 at the age of 20-21 was better than CR7 at the age of 20-21. That said, R9 basically peaked at that age while Cristiano didn’t hit his prime until he was 26. Around 2011 he was scoring 50 goals per season and his dribbling was still world class. That was peak CR7.

As an overall legend of the game, CR7 surpassed R9 years ago in my opinion. If I had to pinpoint an exact year, it would be 2017.

old Ronaldo was special to watch though

his talent was out of this world

current Ronaldo is also special, but is not having near the same natural talent (imo) but is having a determination and mentality second to none

and he stayed on top for much much longer also

It's incredible how little R9 won at club level though. During 14 years in Europe at PSV, Barca, inter, Real and Milan he won 1 league title, 0 Champions Leagues and few national cups and lesser European cups.

Ronaldo has been 3 different players in one career when he first joined united he was skinny wing wizard that could dribble past half a team and skills for days but mainly was a RM that beat players and put in crosses "very underrated part of he's game" but was very young and inconsistent.

Then he became that hybrid winger/forward where he was still fanstasic to watch and could dribble for days but cut some of the tricks out for more goals and was very consitent and had that monster 2008 season scoring 42 goals and winning the double.

He remained like this at he's earlys days at madrid but improved even more and he's 2011/2012 season is one most complete forward seasons you will see fantastic too watch and just a monster of player all over scoring 60 goals from the wing.

Then you get the 30 year old plus current Ronaldo that has changed he's game one again to be more a CF type player getting on the end of things and using he's heading abiilty and off the ball movement far more to decide games... Not many players can say that changed and adpated that much over the years and remained on top.

R9 was class but not a chance he is better than cr7 too much romancing and what "ifs" with R9 with alot of people he only scored 17 goals in total in the CL and never won it despite playing for all top teams.

Yep. I actively watched R9 from 15-16 years old at Cruzeiro to the day he retired. In terms of sheer talent he was undoubtedly the best player and dare I say he could’ve been bigger than Pelé if not for his injuries.

But there are other things we have to consider when comparing players, if talent alone was the only method of comparison nobody would even get close to shining Ronaldinho’s shoes. Overall Cristiano’s career speak for itself. His and Messi’s consistency through out the years is unparalleled in football.

Moving him on wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Verratti swap and fresh underpants for me please.
I love Verratti but I feel like he's another Costa (too injury-prone).

Probably the most popular (recognizable) person in the world atm.

He played for PSV, Barcelona and Inter for most of his club career, 3 of the biggest choker clubs at the time.

CR surpassed everyone IMO.
Saying with zero bias, because I thought so even before he moved to Juve. CR is true GOAT of football IMHO.
