I honestly couldnt a give a shit who is GOAT i would have him in my top 5 with Maradona etc and in what order? i dont really care there all insane solo match winners.

Yea he would definitely be in top five.
He will probably be the number 1 followed by 2.3.4.5 which are humongous levels below him. The thing is that this guy has no flaws. Maradona was drug, Pele was ugliness. Messi is lack of EPL.

Anyway, cr7 career is coming to a close in five years, about time when football will probably die off too. That is unless football get rejuvenated with better rules like removing offside and rolling sub.

The recent Olympic Games garnered five times viewership vs euro. On top of that, football was also the second least viewed sport in Olympic, coming just in front of curling. The other day I watched a full handball game.

Not sure if it wears due to the beautiful players, but I have never felt such adraneline rush in football.

Every tackle on Maradona was intended to break his leg but he danced through them, he'd walk through modern day defenders. Ronaldo the greatest achiever in football, Messi more talented than Ronaldo but Maradona was something special before drugs.

This whole GOAT debate or claim is pointless imo.

By saying a specific player is the GOAT you're already forgetting or devaluing how many greats this sport had over the years.

The biggest clubs all had players that could be called GOAT in their own time and areas of the pitch.

Here I'm talking about the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Milan and probably Ajax as well. These clubs are filled with legendary players of their own.

There are many legends but can only be one GOAT until he is surpassed. The GOAT was arguably one of Pele and Maradona before Cristiano showed up.

Disagreed.

Then who is the defensive GOAT, the midfield GOAT etc?

Football is more than just attackers and scoring goals, you also gotta defend and win the battle in the midfield. Hence I'm tired of this debate between Messi and Ronaldo.

True goalscorers are very impressive, but you're too focused on them. Football is a team sport, Messi and Ronaldo would never have achieved what they did without some highly skilled players around them.

attackers are more important and decisive, only natural that the GOAT will be an attacker.

Midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers will disagree with you big time there.

Attackers are just more in focus because they score the goals. But without some sort of defensive organisation you simply won't win the biggest titles.

Italy at this Euro is a good example about how you can achieve big things while playing as a team. They didn't have the best squad on paper and weren't among the favorites, but they had the best team hence they won it all.

Oh yeah? All we hear is Chiellinis and Piques of the world claiming either Ronaldo or Messi is the GOAT.

no one said that, I said attackers are MORE decisive.
Both yes and no.

And it depends on your playstyle.

But attackers are way more appreciated because goals is what we remember. You win the game by scoring enough goals but without quality defenders and midfielders how many goals would you need to score that way? Just saying.
