what a load of drivel. what you are saying: a player's future is uncertain and will eventually decline. no shit sherlock.
I'm saying that in response to the endless "but he's the goat" arguments, including yours. being a GOAT up till 33yo doesn't guarantee that he'll perform anywhere close to justify us spending 300m+ in his remaining years. especially if attack isn't our biggest headache and doesn't need upgrading like our midfield

I understand all the doubts regarding his age, but you got to consider not only the immediate impact of such a deal but also how it will eventually transform the club into new levels.

I think Cristiano can still be a driving force up until he's 36-37. We might see a decline in pace for sure, but not one that will affect his goalscoring and leadership ability.
I seriously doubt Ronaldo is going to be earning his wage on the pitch when he's 36 or 37. okay, I'll stop ruining his thread with my doubts, this is obviously a dream come true for half the forum, enjoy it fanboys:D

at the time Milan signed Ronaldinho, he also was arguably the greatest player of all time. didn't help them much, did it? Beppe is doing a Galliani, neglecting midfield over forwards for the third summer running and everyone seems to be super happy with it lol
FFS :D

Ronaldinho was a lazy slob on decay. Obscene talent, but it was clear he was on the way back and the work ethic... nah, that was long gone

Ronaldo is the epitome of work ethic.

yeah, hence why he's 33 and still one of the best in the game. but that doesn't mean he won't decline, even the GOATs do. and he won't magically mask our midfield problems, we'll still be an unbalanced side that struggles hard against Tottenham, we'll just have a more clinical and determined striker upfront.

So first we blow 40 big ones on whatshisface from Portugal, and now we're spending another 120 on Ronald here? Since when do we have this kind of money?

so we possibly got 300+m to burn in 4 years time and instead of revamping our midfield with the likes of Pogba and Kante and seriously aiming for the CL, we'll upgrade our CF position which already has one guy too many? it's confirmed now, Beppe is the new Galliani
No, we don't have 300+m to burn. We wouldn't spend this much money on anyone else because no one else guarantees to be a top 2 player in the world for next 2-3 years and no one else is the most popular athlete in the world who will bring in new sponsors, new fans, new dimension to our club.
