at the time Milan signed Ronaldinho, he also was arguably the greatest player of all time. didn't help them much, did it? Beppe is doing a Galliani, neglecting midfield over forwards for the third summer running and everyone seems to be super happy with it lol
There's absolutely no correlation here. Ronaldinho was NOT the greatest player of all time or the world at that time and he was visibly in decline anyways. Also, Ronaldinho doesn't have half the winning mentality, hard work, physique and marketing power possessed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

I'm not saying Ronaldinho case is similar to Ronaldo, I'm saying "but but he's the GOAT" is a stupid argument, only the future matters, the grass doesn't care what Ronaldo did in his career up till now, he'll decline in his own time like all of them did

Ronaldinho wasn't really taking care of himself by then. The absolute opposite is true for Ronaldo.

what a load of drivel. what you are saying: a player's future is uncertain and will eventually decline. no shit sherlock.

I understand all the doubts regarding his age, but you got to consider not only the immediate impact of such a deal but also how it will eventually transform the club into new levels.

I think Cristiano can still be a driving force up until he's 36-37. We might see a decline in pace for sure, but not one that will affect his goalscoring and leadership ability.

You can't know how well he'll do on the pitch. That much is true. But buying Ronaldo would be a loud and clear statement to the entire football world. It would mean we consider ourselves every bit as big as Barcelona or Real Madrid.
