What benefit is there in publicly banishing all these players, i.e. the ones on the shitlist?
We just lost any leverage we had in the mercato.
Everyone knows Juventus is desperate as fuck now. We'll end up selling to our closest rivals for a bargain price.
The benefit is mostly internal, as for our players getting undervalued, I'm sorry to say but from my point of view it's partly also the club's inability to change its outdated DNA that puts flair and fancy as the distant 2nd from its identity as a club next to winning.
The club's biggest recent legends are a goal keeper, defenders and the dying breed deep lying playmaker.
Compare that to other big clubs where flair and fancy players are their recent top legends.
It's not THE reason but I believe such a thing plays a part in it...
It was made worse by the reign of conte, allegri, the type of coaches that also still embodies the old Italian catenaccio DNA, pragmatism and their aversion of modern flair and fancy football + players.
And made even worse still with Allegri's 2nd reign... We all have seen it ourselves, of course outsiders would look at our players and think they should be utter cheap or aren't interested at all, since they all performed one of the worst shit ever in top level pro football.
But even during the height of Allegri's 1st reign, hardly any of our players were highly rated, even Pogba, had he not an ex manure player, I bet he wouldn't had his actual sale value.
And for that I also say that everybody on the management side also failed at that, from Marotta to Giuntoli, they all mostly failed to bring or provide the team with modern flair and fancy type of players.
It doesn't help that the whole Italian football still operates on a similar mindset, as I asked in the other thread, the best Italian winger is a guy from like half a CENTURY ago, lol, compared to the reality that wingers are the superstar position in the sport currently at such that recent GOAT debate has been revolved around the 2 players who made their name playing as wingers. (Mind you, it's such a debate that goes beyond the sport as well)
Yet this club and the country it's in, aren't even looking interested in cultivating such kind of players. It's in such a situation that a player like Chiesa could even have a thought that he's some sort of the current top elite of his position or something.
Marketing is another factor obviously, but you can only market Buffon to a height that would always lower than even a clownish player like Neymar.
Not conceding despite having 10% possession and was against 50 shots on goal will never have the same marketing effect as scoring a normal hattrick.
