I think we're hoping some of these new signings like Djalo and Alcaraz will end up being great for us without 70+ million investment. We always operated like that. In some cases it went great (Vidal, Licht...) in some cases it went terrible (Zakaria, Pellegrini...).

It’s 3.7m. the 1.9m you conveniently added are called bonus and will only be paid when certain conditions are met (which if they happen will be beneficial for us).

The loan fee is offset by not having to pay wages. This was the cheapest way we could have filled a spot on the roster until the summer because we are broke as fuck and can’t go and spend 40/50 million on a player who would have an immediate impact. We’re obviously not going to exercise the option unless he really shines and southampton drastically reduces his prices.
