Looks like this shoes were to big to fill in for him. He had one year of preparations, making plans b,c,d...finding out some talented unkown players like kvaratskhelia was, but nothing happened. The first buy of this mercato was a 4th goalkeeper and that should be a yellow flag, depend on our financial situation.

As i said months ago, why are some so hyped over this guy and took him for some kind of saviour? Tuz is a desperate place
From your post, I think it's you who took Giuntoli as a savior. You think with one year of preparation, a DS can go into the market and pull a Krava deal left and right? Sorry, it's impossible. No one is invincible in the market. You can look into the best DS profiles out there, you'll see they make failure deals every year. I don't need to check to know that. And that's the list they did buy, not the list of the targets they fail to buy.

Failure deal is bad, but it's normal. The important thing is the successful one outweighs the failure. And to know that, the only option is to wait and see it on the field. Here we haven't played a single official match.

Why are we freaking out? Mercato is going excellent so far, best one in i cant remember how long
In terms of fixing the midfield yes, perhaps, but the rest? Lately it’s one failed deal after another, both in and out.

The situation is a bit worrisome but not in complete panic mode just yet although it is indeed looking like we won’t be fully ready for the first few games of the season, however there are still 21days left in the mercatto for us to make some more adjustments, there’s still time even if it might not be exactly what we’ve hoped, might as well wait and see how it actually pans out before coming to a final conclusion.

This is not the first time this happens where a team decides to tell us to go fuck off. Maybe teams don't appreciate us trying to blackmail them through the will of the player.

I can understand why someone would want to throat Allegri, even if I disagree with it.

But throating Jungtoli is just sick.
Throating that fat fuck Mckennie is ultimate form of embarrassment though

I saw similar comments when Marotta took over the club. You guys are so out of touch with reality, it's unbelievable.

JJ's revenue is 200M less than the likes of Tottenham and have been making 100-150M losses regularly over the last 3 years but you guys expect Giuntoli to go out there and dominate the market like we're galactico's JJ or something

It's disappointing to miss out on Todibo but this is not a huge loss. He's no world beater. I really doubt we have the funds to make all those rumored signings.

I’ve defended him for a while, but as it stands our squad is a complete mess. He just has a few days to turn things around, but given how things have gone so far, I don’t have high hopes.

Good point.

Marotta also took over when we were a mess. And things didn't really improve much during his first season in charge.
Starting from his 2nd season, it was a complete success story.

We are now going into Giuntoli's 2nd season. Let's see how it goes.

You can’t really count last season though.

He came in during mid-July, and we had a UEFA ban, the club was in complete disarray on and off the field and we needed some semblance of stability.

Imo this is his true first season in charge. I’ll still judge him after this session, but won’t be calling for his head. Yet

Meh, except for the UEFA ban Marotta arrived in pretty similar circumstances imo.

there was no administrative process against the club, there were no huge losses year after year, there wasn't a dozen of unsellable players on high wages, there was a strong core including world champions

with the addition of vidal, licht and pirlo we suddenly had an extremely strong squad already. all we needed was a left wingback and a striker to match the top 10 of europe. now i cannot name 5 realistic targets that would make us compete for a cl semifinal

that squad had potential, we had a new and caring president and a new stadium. don't even get me started on the current situation. it's easily the worse from all angles i can remember as a juve fan.

We have executives who have had months if not at least a year to sort out a new main sponsor. We can't even get that right. I don't even know who the fuck our president is, too busy cowering away in his fancy office watching elklown taking it up the culo

Both Giuntoli and Motta deserve more time. This is a multi-year project.

Giuntoli more time for what? Selling talented players for a fraction of their worth just to replace them with nobody? I think he's fucking stupid to give himself so much to do. The thought that we have sold huijsen and Soule to probably only get nico gonzalez and probably some shit defender... no that's a stackable offence of sheer incompetence, not even Secco was this dumb.

Marotta (and Allegri) got pretty lucky with both Milanese teams in disarray so our resurgence was an easier process.

JJ won't be getting that now so it would be unfair to hold Giuntoli to the same standards. I do believe he's the right man to take us back to the top though.

I won't go that far just yet, but it is true that his time with us so far has not been promising.

We all know we had been terribly mismanaged before he joined, so I think you have to be lenient for at least a while. It was/is always going to take some time.

The January transfer window was a huge warning sign however. At the time, neither of those transfers made any sense. (And for those who are going to counter this with the no money argument, I've got the perfect & even much cheaper solution: don't sign them. We all knew they weren't going to play & so we didn't need them to begin with.)

In hindsight, and taking the Allegri fallout into account, I guess they do make some sense. Why strengthen a squad for a coach you don't see eye to eye with?

Which brings us to how the entire Allegri situation was dealt with: absolutely pathetic. About as big a red flag as possible.
We all know Allegri's time with us was over, but he's still one of the most successful managers this club ever had. While Giuntoli on the other hand has done fuck all for this club so far.

It's still too early to judge the current transfer window imo. Even if, from the looks of it right now, it can be described in 1 word: random.
I'm going full Turk here, but in hindsight, the way shit unfolded at the end, the January transfer window looks like a sabotage operation. We bought two players who didn't contribute at all, for money we didn't have. The relationship between Guintoli and Max breaks down, shit hits the fan for the club. All the off field shenanigans meant we went from second on the table to winless for months. Guintoli made a big power move then, it's time for him to walk the talk now.

Get a grip. All of them are very much unknown qualities at top level. Huijsen the only one who played for a semi-top team and he was exposed. They all might or might not turn out good.

We'll see who we get in the end

The moment he arrived [right after we finished 7th with a negative GD and we missed out on the CL money], Marotta faced the challenge of deciding what to do with the aging (super)stars. Among the 22 players who had played the most minutes before he arrived, 14 were 30+ (Camoranesi, Del Piero, Trezeguet, Grosso, Cannavaro, Iaquinta, Legrottaglie, Zebina, Amauri, Buffon, Poulsen, Salihamidzic, Grygera, Manninger). Most of them were, at the time, on very high wages, and, except for Buffon, all of them were (way) past their prime at the highest level.

Additionally, Diego and Felipe Melo were on high wages, and a decision needed to be made whether to build the team around them (and the season 09/10 showed that they aren't that good to deserve such a privilege), or let them go.

Caceres was on loan and returned to Spain, while Candreva was also on loan and returned to Udinese.

What remained after all this were: Chiellini, Marchisio, Sissoko, and De Ceglie.

This was an incredibly tough position for someone to start their Juve career as a director.

Sure. Until Inter won a trophy for the first time in a decade under, checks notes, Marotta. Pretty lucky that Beppe guy. We could use some of that luck.
