It's extremely frustrating even talking about this.
I mean, whatever. De Ceglie played a few times as left-back, wasn't a disaster but people claim he can't play there. Yet even though Moli is a disaster time and time again, he still gets the call and is first choice. It's like people never learn.
Fine. Keep playing him at left-back and see what happens.

Apart from the fact that the people in charge are obviously completely idiots, beyond any doubt! And we should not seek any reason from their actions/choices.
There are more ways to prove what is happening to our team.
If it was only Molinaro, then this point might actually have some value, BUT;
Just look at our defense as a whole!!
There is similar situation in almost every other position too.
And there is a pattern that has been used on all occasions for the past 3 years.
The lack of interest and investment on our defense!! After the pathetic attempts with Criscito's half and crippled Andrade. There were absolutely no clear investing or upgrading plan, for our defense.
We avoid doing this at all cost, no matter if we can cope or not!
We just ignore it, there are only free players joining as quick fixes, in order to postpone this matter indefintily and make it, hoping that it will somehow disappear from its self!
All the fans, all the teams, all the managers, even the most incompetent ones, have spotted that weakness and pointed that out for our board to see it.
But still, they are the only ones keep denying that!
They hope that Grygera-Legro-Moli can form a top class, competitive defense that would be a critical part of a competitive team, like the competitive Juve e are hopping to see.

I'm not making any decisions who will play and who won't. I'm just wondering what will you say if Ferrara also starts Molinaro ahead of De Ceglie.
Criticizing Molinaro i can understand, but overrating De Ceglie, who isn't better at all than Molinaro is what i don't understand.
And Molinaro is tactically a better solution than De Ceglie. Although in a system where the full back needs to be good both in attack and defense and when he'll need great stamina, neither of them can make it.

Playing the most minutes in the last season would even persuade me to choose him over De Ceglie because the former is more experienced. It doesn't necessarily mean that Ferrara has the same reasons by which Ranieri preferred Molinaro to De Ceglie. De Ceglie is slightly more talented than Molinaro and he also has better crosses but Molinaro is better in defense and he's more experienced now (thank to Ranieri). If I had been at Ranier's place I would have chosen De Ceglie over Molinaro but now, between the two, I'd also go for Molinaro.
Not only on this forum, but seeing reader comments on football sites (like the one which is "not allowed to be mentioned" here 
), alot of Juventus fans seem to think he's crap.
He has played few good games, but again I'm saying more-often-than-not he's played horribly like giving away possession, poor crossing etc.
I've given up, however...he's here to stay.....

De Ceglie is much more unreliable defensively compared to Molinaro. Molinaro gives away possession, cross balls worse than me but does okay defensively wise, which is the most important thing, while De Ceglie cost us more goals than Molinaro despite playing much less. Maybe that will change next season but Molinaro is a much better LB than DC this season.
oh for god sake, buy grosso or dossena instead (although i really dont like both player), but is better than we dont purchase on devensive sector....with our current full back i think we can win scudetto, but on europe?face a big team like madrid?im very very pesimistic we can get a great result with moli as full backs
i choose de ceglie better tan moli...if you guys remember his game on this match i think it would be great reference for us....
and for his devensive ability, i think ferrara can teach him about that....but to be honest his more physical and stronger, faster than moli...and not forget to mention he have a good cross. he a future LB for juve and italy guys, i hope he can got trust forplaying on the team starting eleven next season like inter do for santon

It's a long shot and in an ideal world this is how I see our LB position being filled in. DC has had some decent displays and there is no doubt that he is much better going forward than Moli, but as long as he's not on par with Moli ( that I'm even saying that.. ) when it comes to purely defending, we will have to put up with Moli again. I really hope that he can improve his defensive skills a bit working hard over the summer so that we can see him starting over Moli, because that assist he provided for Amauri is something we will never see as long as MagicMoli starts.
Oh, but he has improved drastically.
2 seasons ago Chiellini (or one of the other CB's) had to assist & cover for him quite frequently, while he barely covered for the rest of his defence. This season the exact opposite is true (if you exclude the first 5 games or so). He covered for Chiellini and the others way more than the other way around.
This past season, there were quite a few games where he was (by far) our best defender.
At least someone noticed. (Although Giorgio is still clearly a better defender than Moli)
Funny how people that actually attend matches don't seem to criticize him anymore (they did in the first season & first games of last season). And I would think that people who actually go through the trouble of attending games might have a better perspective of these things. There's only so much you can see on TV.
You people (not directed to anyone in particular) need to be way more objective when you rate players.
People who say he is a crap defender just don't know the first thing about defensive organisation & tactics, let alone the running patterns that an FB should follow.
Now if only he could improve his passing & crossing
(Although these qualities are possibly not as bad as they are made out to be)
