you mentioned the wages we pay our players ... and thus i am pretty sure that molinaro does earn exactly what we owe him ... some salary that is probably half of what zambrotta or another decent full back earned ... he is not good, but it is not like we're spending super high wages on him...

if the club think we need a reinforcement there, then they can buy one, because molinaros wage wont hurt so much as if we can not afford to bench him.
I am not saying that his wages are "super high", compared to other top class players, within our team.
Of course they are not! There is a huge gap of class between them...
All i am saying is, that some ppl just see Molinaro with empathy, like he is doing us a favor and playing for free. Like he is making a sacrifice for our team, because he "tries hard", when other champions seem less...determined at times .
IMO, he should pay Juve, for having the chances, a player of his class has!
It is his duty and a great honor, of having the chance to be a regular starter, in such a prestigious club!
Since he has no skills and tactical awareness, it is only normal to contribute, with the only way he can,
(meaning running up and down without any purpose).
He is only paid to do so and probably the only reason, CR keeps him,
he is not doing us any favors, thats the least he should do!
He is getting paid enough for this, enough to keep him running
and the motivation of playing, as a starter, in team, he wasnt supposed to play at all,
should really boost his confidence, he should try even harder and daily thank God, (and CR at nights) for giving him this chance, some much better players, never had!!

Molinaro is probably or surely not Juve's material but there's no way he can be compared to Chimenti.

Chimenti doesn't even try at times to save a ball. It feels like he's wearing the jersey just to waste his time. Molinaro on the other hand can look like a joke several times morning till noon but at least you see him performing once or twice in each of his 5matches.

I think Molinaro is a bit more respected than Chimenti, a bit. Can be more if he works on his fucked up passes though.
I mentioned both, because they are used to be our weaklings, i just wanted to explain myself for the reasons, i keep bashing them.
I rarely ever bashed a Juve player, like i did with them.
This post mentioned to provide some arguments and reveal my real purpose, for the ones who care and dont already know.
Chimenti would be a much better keeper, if he had the chance to play as a regular for more years and Moli, would be much more appreciated in a lesser team.
BUT, that doesnt change the fact, that we cant afford to use them atm.
Our defense, as a whole is very weak and we need to do better than that.
We cannot afford having a 2nd choice keeper (referring to his first spell, he is no longer a threat) , like Chimenti and a starter like Molinaro, now.
Both of these players, for one reason, or another just doesnt cut it in.
Molinaro was top-class against roma .. he was fast, passes the ball nicely, his crosses was pretty good, defended solidly .. why can't he play like this in every match? the guy just lacks self-confidence which shouldn't be a problem at this time considering the number of matches he played for us since last season ..

Now, I wish he can gain some confidence after our respected management signed a new contract with him .. he must .. otherwise, i can see him being sold at the end of the season ..
Molinaro has been improved this year, there is no doubt about that,
he has gain confidence and exp, he is CR's favorite player!
The presence of DC, forced him to concentrate and try to do better!
But again, his very very limited basic football skills and the lack of tactical awareness holds him back!
No matter who how much he tries, he will never become any better than a certain level. He will never become a classy player, its not his fault, its just the way it is...
He may become a nearly useful player, in 6years fron now, but can we wait for that??
And this is why i detected him as a threat from his first days here.
We own his contract, he is cheap, he is young, he is Italian, he plays in a position, where the rest of our players, can minimize the damage he provokes.
These are reasons, good enough, for our managers, to tolerate an incompetent player and delay further investments, as much, as possible!
Therefore, i saw it coming, our managers want to minimize the investments.
They want an Italian core, they dont want to pay high salaries to less fancy but efficient players, who will no create spectacle and bring more fans (and income) to the stadium. They said it clearly, that they favor spectacle over results.
Thats why we buy big names upfront and ended up with this defense.
This is our new turn, our new philosophy...
We are applying Real Madrid strategies, without their resources and in a championship, were the defense and tactics have the first word, of winning the league!
Thankfully, our age-ing champions, have been proven enough to make the difference and balance the situation, adding some extra quality, to compensate the lack of quality, our teams suffers, in the back, because of starters like Molinaro.
But how much is this going to last???
The lack of some serious investment and our very limited managerial skills,
are slowly but surely, pushing us down. When the last of our champions will retire,
our current toleration of starters like Molinaro, will come back and bite us.
A team full of squad players, without any more champions to lead them...
This decision will affect our future, but it also affects our present!
We are losing, points, matches, titles today, because we didnt invest to a better material.:shifty: What are we waiting for??
If we wont fix the problem now, it will be almost impossible to throw in 500mil,
sell all of our players and buy a whole squad of quality players tomorrow.
We were supposed to add a few quality players, one at a time and build a quality team, like the old times!
Tomorrow without our champions to compensate and make the difference, what are we going to do?
We wont be able to keep our current position and slowly become an average table team.
Each and every move we have done, post calciopoli, points at this way...
We are not re-building the old Juve, we are just wasting time...
Our owners only care for their income. Not our future!
However, we, the fans, the keepers of faith, the dreamers, the loyalists, the protectors of our heritage, we ought to demand for more!!
We can be the leverage!
We must not let this happen, we suffered enough, we must not tolerate this!
We have invested enough time, space and patience to the likes of Molinaro, Chimenti, Stendardo and Knezevic.
Having rid of the damned/cursed flat 4-4-2, (at least temporary)
our greatest weakness atm, is our defense.
A small sacrifice of 5-15mil would greatly enhance our team. But this is the last thing, our managers think of!
With a better defense, maybe we could have avoided small mistakes here and there,
maybe we couldnt have conceded silly goals, like the one Muntari scored.
Our chances for a title would seriously increase.
We are wasting years, when we can easily act now and take advantage of our nearly retired champions, to form a quality squad!
Molinaro is not our only fault, but we must start from somewhere and upgrading/replacing our weakling, is the first step!

Molinaro is nowhere near the level of any player that wears the Juventus jersey. He does lack fundamental skills and it is very evident that the guy is simply not naturally talented.

However, I think he is our most improved player since last season. he played very well against Roma and Real, he also made a few decent crosses this season; last year's Molinaro was just astonishingly useless. He was a waste of space and could never get anything right, in fact, he went out of his way to get everything wrong!

I think Ranieri plays him because the guy covers an enormous amount of space per game. He runs like there's no tommorow in attempt to cover up for his lack of skill. That's what Ranieri wants, he doesn't want a world class fullback like Alves or Zambrotta, he wants someone that will give 100 % percent every game simply because he has to. Now it really isn't a matter of choice, it's not like we can easilly get Daniel Alves or Evra anytime we want. We need to compensate for lack of talent by fielding players who have incredible will and enthusiasm.

He is our weak link but he is a very improved one. I don't think Juve is going to sell this guy soon, after we sign a decent LB, Molinaro will be his backup.

I think exactly the opposite. Ranieri has so far put faith in him by playing him often, almost always when possible, so there's no pressure on him, no reason for him not to have confidence, yet he still fails to deliver.

well .. check out his reactions when he loses a ball or delivers a bad cross and u'll soon agree that he lacks self-confidence .. and that is driving me crazy .. i can't see why he doesn't believe in himself with all the playing time he got from CR ..!! so let's hope the new contract can change this ..

He doesn't believe in himself because he recognizes his lack of world class talent, or any talent at all for that matter. How can you expect a player that has been dubbed 'utterly useless' by most Juve fans and withstands criticism from the media every week for the past year to have self-confidence?

I wouldn't say he lacks confidence at all, the guy is always talking about the Azzurri, I don't think someone who thinks he is no good would talk about earning a call up for the World Champions

He says it's his dream, he never said he's going to actually play for the Azzuri. Little kid dream of playing for their national team every day, does that mean they are instilled with self-confidence?

@cronios:
go watch the table ... if the defense was really our weakness than we would not have the second best defense in the league (just one more goal conceded than inter)... yes momo does help alot, but so does cambiasso and co for inter ...

molinaro did in fact quite a few times compensate defensive flaws from chiellini or legro ... yes, most of the time it is the other way around, but still he does from time to time run back and distract the attacker that thought he was clear on goal, because he beat chiellini and legro

Molinaro largely held his ground today. A fine job, really, and he looked like an all-star compared to Milan's defensive line of pensioners.

Good game by Molinaro yesterday. But DC should be the one playing all the time and Moli the one who will be sitting on the bench waiting for his chance. Anyway, great game Moli!!

If he keeps going like this his dream of playing for Italy might come true soon, considering the aging and average competition he has (Grosso and Zambrotta).

He'd probably suffer a bit in a possession keeping game though, where someone like De Ceglie is superior.
