DC in serie B, has shown:
-Skills with the ball, control, cross, passing
Molinaro has never shown any of them for 2 years and he is a few years older than DC. I ve only seen him twice before Juve and he never impressed me much.
Which is a much easier thing to do so, than playing besides champions like Neddy and still being impressive! (Same goes for Marchisio)
-He has tactical awareness, he knows when to run and where, to cover spaces, to draw back, to help making an offside trap and cross at the right moment.
This is the reason that he could work well with Neddy and the reason Neddy cannot associate with Moli.
Thats exactly the difference between great football players and the rest.
And i believe that this is one of Molinaro's greatest weakness.
One coach, once told me that you are born with gift and you cannot be trained to acquire it from zero, you can only build upon your instincts and exp.
Truth or not, Molinaro run like a headless chicken and makes a poor use of his stamina and speed because of that. He may be a good athlete and a honest worker,
but Juve cannot use him efficiently because of that...
I do not expect from Molinaro to do anything positive upfront (despite the fact that every modern full back, is expected to do so)
I do not expect him to play, as a complete player...
But at least i expect him to be useful defensive wise!
And yet, Moli still disappoints me, even there. Due to the lack of ball skills, he cannot pass, short or long passes, direct or through balls, with accuracy/precision.
And without the tactical awareness of the situation, he cannot start a counter attack, or avoid a pass behind that would put us in great danger and eventually risking a goal.
He cannot hold or protect the ball, because he is too clumsy for that and he is forced to give it away carelessly, giving away any possible tactical advantages.
His runs are not sync-ed with our attacked, providing no cover forward, or support at the defense.
He cannot position himself between the player and ball to intercept a ball
and he has no tackle skills, to block a player, after receiving a ball either.
He cannot calculate the ballistic arrow of the ball to intercept a cross.
There is practically no way, he could single handle stop an attacking chance, coming from our wings.
He can only track down with his stamina the opposition player, stalling him annoying him. (When/if he is in the right position to do so)
There are so many thing Moli, should improve to become a football player, he should as well start over from the beginning...
We are "supposed" to be a professional team, presumably competing in a professional league, we have no time for this!
We shouldnt do that, at the best case scenario, Molinaro will grow to be half-useful,
he lacks the elementary skills to become good at any field.
He is just a waste of time, salary and space, with no future.
Thats why i do believe that we should invest on DC instead, he is younger,
he can learn more and better. He already has more skills to build upon.
He has the tactical awareness of the situation and when he will adapt with our teamwork/gameplay, he will be able to deliver so much more, only because he will be in the right place, at the right time!
He has some decent cross and passing skills, which develop into great ones.
Giving us more tactical options.
We have seen he can do better that that.
He is a fast learner and he only needs to grow stronger and more confident, to become a young Zambrotta.
He has better reflexes, precision, calmness and positioning.
Therefore he may become a better defender than Moli!
Also versatile player, with great overall skills, able to cover more positions and roles!
