Jankulovski has been better.
But yeah, besides that, non us has really, says alot about Molinaro's improvement defensively, but also alot about Serie A's LBs.
I dont his skills were improved at any particular field.
His man to man skills are still mediocre.
He cant intercept the crosses. He cant make a tactical foul, to halt an opposition counter attack.
He cant intercept a ball coming from a corner/FK contributing in our air defense.
And he cant sync a proper, on the ball tackle, hence, he doesnt even tries that...
Although Moli has indeed, improved overall. I do believe its mostly because he improved his tactical awareness, or CR has invented a way to guide him better.
Molinaro's runs were always there, but they ever get to be any useful, because he was always the wrong man, at the wrong place.
At this particular season, he "attacks" and defends with the rest of the team.
He is not a headless chicken/runner, anymore. He is at least running at the right direction, providing (even theoretical support) in our team.
That was the least a football player ought to do...
Molinaro used to to run away from the ball, because of fear or plain stupidity
and that was one of my main points of criticism on him.
Although i reckon that he will never become a complete player,
he will never become skilled enough, to be a part a strong team, like Juve
used to be.
His presence alone, could benefit our team and we will stop looking like we are playing with one player less...
This "contribution", can only be named as a defensive help, but that doesnt mean his defensive skills, as a football player, have increased.
He is still a raw material and o worthy of the jersey he carries...
This year Moli made the step forward, from a runner, to an amateur football player. The day he will learn to control, will make the step to a professional player and they day he will learn how to cross, or offer any other support in an offensive built up, will be a player worthy enough to participate in serie A...
PS Chances are that DC will be a world class player by then...
