In todays press conference, Ranieri said Juve's Mercato is closed.

Some players will leave but will not be replaced.

yeah, those kind of comments should never be taken on the word, but still it doesn't show a lot of ambition...

Stuttgart Playing Hardball With Juve Over Meira

Stuttgart's central defender Fernando Meira is still being linked to Juventus - but the alleged price tag for the Portuguese star may discourage the Old Lady...

zoom - galleria VfB Stuttgart apparently want 15 million euros for Fernando Meria, with Juventus unwilling to meet the German champs' valuation.

The 29 year old centre back has long since been a target for new Juve boss Claudio Ranieri, but the Turin club has balked at the idea of meeting die Roten's valuation.

Juve are hoping to negotiate a discount for the Portuguese international, but Stuttgart see Meria as a prized asset and will only let him go at a price - as such, the Italian giants may find themselves paying somewhere around 15 million.

What's more, Stuttgart are reluctant to sell not only on principle but also due to their mounting injury problems at the back.

Meira arrived in Germany from Benfica in 2002 and became club captain in 2006.
