I never saw Rumenigge play live and ive read very little about him.I havent even seen any footage of him either. What position did he play in and how good was he?

well to put it in perspective, when maradona's argentina went to the world cup the press asked the argentinian coach who he feared the most, he said germany because they have rumenigge

That was Bilardo. Some says that he started to call Ruggeri (argentinian defender) to his room and started to shout "Ruggeri, who are you going to mark?... ohhhhh Rumenigge!" all night long.

there is another anecdote with the germany from that era. when albania was playing germany the albanian coach tells one of his guys to stay on one german player, overath (sp), all the time and be his shadow. when overath has to go out during the game to check out an injury he got, the albanian player is on the sidelines waiting for him :eyebrows:

He could play as a winger, striker and attacking midfielder. He was not very skilful but he was very technical. Never saw the best of him at the world cup as he was always injured. I think the most skilful German player i have seen is Littbarski. Why are people saying Di Stefano is the best ever Spanish player, he was from Argentina, also played for Colombia and played for Spain just 30 times or so
