The problem is the high number of sick people at the same time. Even if the severe number of cases is low relative to the total number of infected people if 20% of northern Italy gets infected for a period of one month, this will mean around 5 million people. If out of those 5 milion only 0,5% need medical care - 25 000 people have to be hospitalised.

IMO, no for most places. Matter of surviving two months and minimizing human errors during that time (not a good job of that so far). Should have something for second wave if there's one.

20% sounds pretty high. But yeah, it will be a big burden on governments around the world. However, the anxiety around it is probably causing more harm to the economy than the disease itself.

Yes, so in China it managed to infect 80k people but somehow Italy is going to reach 5mln soon.

Worth remembering that Italy has a higher ratio of older people (over-65) than pretty much everyone, Japan excluded.
